What gearing would you recommend for a 19T super stock? I've got it geared 23/81 at the moment, i have a 21T pinion, would that be better?

Oh and one more question, does the stock ESC that comes with the B4RS have a temperature cut off?

No temp cut.

for a brushed motor i would gear it around 19-21t. see what the temps are.

Default F.Y.I.

I have a huge lot 4-sale of one to two run J-Concepts tire mounted on White J-Concepts Rulux wheels. These are all left over from the J-Concepts Clash Race last month.

Depending on the track size, & brand of motor,I've run between 24 &30 - 78. The Novaks take a little more gear than my putnam 10.5.

"Now that more people are using 17.5's in prep for the ECT this winter, I've had a few people asked me how to mount a smaller size spur gear onto the b4(or XXX) and retain the slipper clutch...

Obviously there is a "slipper eliminator" out there. But our cars have the slipper clutch on the car for many reasons; diff life, transmission wear, handling, and weight bias...

Below I have created a list of parts, mostly AE parts and 1 Losi part to make this conversion.

These parts you will need to acquire:

T3 Slipper Plate (outer)

T3 Slipper Pad

T3 Spur gear screws

Losi Hydra Drive Spring Cup and Spring Kit
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/15126

This part you will already have-

B4 Slipper Plate (Inner)
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXEAD0&P=SM

On the Losi part A-3124. You will need to cut one end of this spacer flush, make sure you keep the side that is "keyed" the same way as the top shaft. Once this is cut you are ready to assemble the slipper clutch.

I have created a transmission blow apart drawing. This drawing shows the basic assembly of the slipper clutch.

Also shown in this drawing are the new parts used in the assembly, these have been highlighted yellow.

Here is the link for the blow apart drawing-
(SEE ATTACHMENT)

I originally assembled and it is geared at 31/69. It seems to be pretty close for the power band. But I would recommend carrying a 30,31,32 pinion selection..."

Worth A Shot

I'm currently acquiring all of the parts for this setup. What kind of spur gears does it use? Also what is a good starting point for a tekin 17.5?

So with these new gears, I won't need to use the t3 slipper setup?

Let's give a quick rundown to help everyone understand the gearing. What performance-wise are you trying to accomplish going with a smaller spur gear?
