So i would use the narrow/standard 4 rib part# 8175 tires yeah? So will these tires fit on those LOSA7004 Wide wheels still or is there a narrow/standard wheel that suits? I see the wide wheel is the same width as my B44 front wheels. I owned a XXX4G+ and noticed that if i swapped the front LOSI hex spacer over with a Associated hex spacer (the associated one being a thicker spacer because the associated front wheels have a deeper hex hole in the wheel (and if you just tried to fit an associated front wheel on the LOSI hex you would 1):have a wider offset and 2):run the risk of the hex pin coming out as it is not protected by the wheel)) that I could run B44 wheels all round and I would only need to have one make of wheels in my pit box. If these LOSI wheels that i am to use with the wheel MOD are the same width as the B44 wheels can I use my B44 wheels all round after changing to the Associated hex? Then I can run my Rulux wheels

Thanks for all the help lads...Oh and I am
The Associated 2wd's don't use a hex in the front wheel, they have 2 bearings mounted in the front wheel vs. the Losi's that mount the bearings in the spindle and use a hex to key into the wheel. I suppose it would be possible to use the Associated hex and wheels but I'm not familiar iwth the B44 or the Losi's so much, I just know a wittle bit

I misread your response. I know the mod you're talking about. I thought about doing it a long time ago but never got around to it. What I was trying to clarify in my last post was that I am not familiar with the hex sizes/systems between the B44 and the XXX. I just re-read my post and realized how little sense it made as a response to your question sorry for the confusion I guess it was a little early for that much thinking

I just ran my B4 for the first time Saturday night. I have the Novak 10.5 in it and geared it at 24/78 motor came of the track at 95 degress. When charging the battery I would only put about 800 mah back into a 3800 mah lipo. obviously the motor is not even working. where should I go with my gearing?

autocadsteve: if you do in fact do the losi spindle mod you would want the standard width losi wheel at least for the narrow proline 8175 tire. After taking a look at the track that you run on, i would consider running a wider front tire like the proline 8176, it looks a little loamy for narrow fronts, however i think the four wheel front wheel will be too wide, you can run the losi wheels on the b44 hex if you put some shims thin cvd shims between the wheel and hex, i did this on my xxx-4.

Autocadsteve: Read your question again, and im not sure if you will be able to run the rulox wheels up front unless you dont do the mod and just buy the standard b4 rulux wheels. but i guess you can try running some treaded 4wd front tires and wheels on the front of your b4 and see how that goes.

thought about it some more and got up and looked at the differences between the standard 2wd b4 front wheels compared to the b44 front wheels and they seem to be just as wide but the off-set is alot different. So unless the losi spindle mod makes your front end wider then you could run the 4wd rulux front wheels. If not then you cant run the rulux wheel and that would suck and make it not worth it unless you dont care and buy all new regular dish wheels.

Gear it to run around 150 degrees. 28-78 to 30-78. I've run as high as 32-78 with no problems.

Wow, I still run 19/87 on my T4 with a 6.5 and 21/81 on my B4

How long of a straight-away do you guys run?? Do you have any pictures of your track?

our local track had a 90' front straight which will be 100' next spring. the novaks pull real well geared tall. Keep in mind you want to use temp to get close.
Novak recommends 150 degrees.

With the lower # motors or higher powered motors you use gearing that is just a little higher then what you would with say a brushed motor of about equal performance. However with the lower powered motors like the 10.5, 13.5, 17.5, etc you have to gear them to the moon to get the motors in their power band.

As for pic's of that track, here are some pic's on my cars on that track (well last years layout anyways)
