It goes in the center of the spur. Forgot to plug in the camera, sorry.

how does that work then? That part has me confused. I know i sound like im being dumb but wouldnt the bearing keep the spur from spinning as it should?

i get the pegs in the slipper part but this analogy still doesnt help me understand the point of the bearing. Is there maybe a drawing or something that can more clearly illustrate it?

since the hole in the center of the other gear is alot bigger than the t4/b4 stock gears the bearing goes in the center and keeps the gear centered and keeps nice smooth slipper action goin

btw anyone ever look into the b3 t3 slipper setup ?
it uses robinsion or traxxas gears.

heres where the spur mounts to
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LX3446&P=7
and then the slipper pad goes on the back on this

Default B4 slipper

I have an issue with my B4 slipper and I'm looking for some help. The buggy is running a cc sidewinder with 5700 and a 25C 5000 lipo. The slipper was adjusted so that there was no slip, but that was eating the diff rings and diff balls quick. I backed off on the slipper to keep the buggies front wheels down. That worked great for the first 20 minutes or so then it started loosing speed. Now I adjusted the slipper all the way in and it slips alot. Is it time to replace the slipper pads? Everything looks like new.
Thanks for the help.
Eric

so its...

1.put traxxas slipper pegs in kimbrough spur gear
2.put AE front wheel bearing in spur gear center hole
3.reassemble using stock b4/t4 slipper plates
4.mount back onto vehicle

right?

take the pads off and rescuff them they are probably glazed over.
and as far as your diff. it sounds like youll have to run it a little tighter than normal to keep it from slipping and to keep your slipper tight enough where it doesnt destroy itself.

thats the jist of it but im unsure if the bearing would eventually interfere with the slipper plates. and thats the wrong size bearing
youd need a bearing with a id that matches the topshaft and a o.d that matches the spur

truefully id go with the setup i mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. I want to be able to manage the power that this thing puts out without ruining all the parts. Does anyone add weight to the front to help keep the wheels down or is it just driver skill. I would like to run this thing in the winter (indoor clay) and want to be prepaired.

Chewie, i beleive this is the setup you're trying to get at.

Obviously there is a "slipper eliminator" out there. But our cars have the slipper clutch on the car for many reasons; diff life, transmission wear, handling, and weight bias...

Below I have created a list of parts, mostly AE parts and 1 Losi part to make this conversion.

These parts you will need to acquire:

T3 Slipper Plate (outer) -- ASC9252
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LX3446&P=SM

T3 Slipper Pad -- ASC9253
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LX3447&P=SM

T3 Spur Gear Bushing -- ASC6599
http://aedownloads.com/downloads/item_photos/6599.jpg

T3 Slipper Spring and Nut -- ASC6587
http://aedownloads.com/downloads/item_photos/6587.jpg

T3 Spur gear screws -- ASC6568
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LX2862&P=7

Losi Hydra Drive Spring Cup and Spring Kit -- LOSA3124
http://images.amainhobbies.com/image...e/losa3124.jpg

This part you will already have-

B4 Slipper Plate (Inner) -- ASC9604
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXEAD0&P=SM

On the Losi part A-3124. You will need to cut one end of this spacer flush, make sure you keep the side that is "keyed" the same way as the top shaft. Once this is cut you are ready to assemble the slipper clutch.

I have created a transmission blow apart drawing. This drawing shows the basic assembly of the slipper clutch.

Also shown in this drawing are the new parts used in the assembly, these have been highlighted yellow.

Here is the link for the blow apart drawing-
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3238/...5a8dd56a_o.jpg

I originally assembled this geared at 31/69. It seems to be pretty close for the power band. But I would recommend carrying a 30,31,32 pinion selection...

This spur set up keeps the motor weight almost exactly the same as if it were a brushed stock motor

Let me know if you have any questions.
