A good gearing for the T4 with say a stock CO27 motor would be the stock 87tooth spur and a 16 or 17 tooth pinion. I always ran a 17 tooth pinion on mine with the CO27 until i went brushless.

My son and I are new to offroad racing. Been racing oval for 4 years now. We thought we would try something different for the winter months. So we got a T4. The last time we were at the track practicing we had a problem with the truck hopping around over some ripples on the straights. How can we settle the truck down without hurting how it handles the jumps? Thanks for any input.

without knowing your current setup its hard to make suggestions...

in my t4 i run cav's setup just about everywhere...on my b4 i run a slightly modified version of it these are the basic indoor clay setups. only thing really to modify on the outdoor track is on the b4...you use silver rear springs.

just curious about wings on the b4...

i just got a pair of wings from jconcepts, the 6" high downforce wing and the b4 front stabilizer wing, curious what people think.

most setups i see a 6" wing with 1/2 the rear vertical lip, no front wing; how would the full 6" rear with the front wing feel in comparison?

OK guys what do you think for gearing on my new FTT4....

I am looking for the gearing for 13.5 and 6.5. Anywhere in the ballpark would be appreciated!

Chris, I run 24/78 in my T4 with a 13.5. I have only ran a 6.5 in my truck one time and I ran a 20/81. Th gearing was a little high. I would say I could have went down a tooth or two on the pinion.

When I ran a 7.5 in my t4 I ran 87/20; I believe most pros who run 6.5s run around 87/18 or 87/17.

As for the 13.5 in a t4, most around here are running 87/24 but it comes off pretty cool after 7 minutes. I have been thinking about grabbing an 84 tooth spur and running 84/26 on the truck (like a 3 tooth pinion increase from 87/24)

87/24 = 9.425 FDR (Good for smaller tracks)
84/26 = 8.4 FDR (Good for bigger tracks)
78/24 = 8.45 (Good for bigger tracks)

if running a different spur, just remember 3 down on the spur is close to 1 up on the pinion.

Good call Jake. I forgot to mention I run on a couple pretty big tracks. They are two of the biggest Indoor tracks in the midwest.

The only reason I run the smaller spurs is because of the weight difference in the BL motors compared to the brushed. I like to keep the motor more forward when running BL.

Well i raced my T4 for the first time tonight. I have had it for over a year and it has just been sitting while i have been riding dirt bikes. Anyway to say it was disastrous would be an understatement. First pack i clipped a metal stake holding the pvc down and broke the rear arm. First lap of the second pack broke the tplate although that probably was more from the earlier incident. Third pack, first lap front shock end pulls out! At that point i called a night before i broke something more expensive!

hi everyone... I know the answer to my question is probably in this thread, but I'm just after a quick answer as I'm new to off road thing.

Are the Losi rims and the associated rims interchangable??

... will the losi rims fit on the T4?

Cheers!
