I can't fit anything bigger than 3800. I'd like to know how others do it. I'm thinking of taking my dremel to it.

hey guy not to beat a dead horse but there it no way that I would run a 5.5 in a 2wd I have one in my BJ4 and it is almost to much for it and also its not smooth enought for a 2wd even on a high bite track I have run on alot of high bite tracks and and have never needed more that a 12 turn I can see maybe a 10 turn on a big outdoor track but to me 2wd is all about being smooth I cant man handle a 2wd and go fast just wreck it alot

The 4200 batteries I have use a low profile battery bar. Some of the IB packs still use a bar that is tall and the packs have to be forced into the battery tray. The EP cells use a lower battery bar and they fit snug with out forcing them in. I'm not sure what the new 4600 batts will use but I'm gonna get lots of the low battery bars for future packs.

What I'd like to know is, with Maxamps' Lipo batteries-do the 6000 Mah batteries fit with no mods? Or is it the 5000 Mah that fits with no mods?

I run the MaxAmps 6000 in my B4 and T4, no mods needed.

Sweet. Do you use the thumbscrews or the body clips for battery hold down? Our track owner finally gave in to letting us run lipo. Yehaw!

The 6000 mah MaxAmps will fit right in there. The 8000 mah one needs the battery bar raised up and may need longer threaded rod for the thumb screws. That is a simple mod.

I use the thumscrews.. no issues at all..

Like craps said.. the 8000 will need some modification to fit.. but very very minor and easy..

You can even use a couple of long 4-40 screws with washers since most of us do not even take the battery out of the truck. Just leave it in there and charge it up unless you are into running 1 hour plus enduros and need more battery than you have radio TX battery!

LOL. Not yet. I'll just be using the lipos for practice to start with. I'll be able to set the truck up much easier by not having to wait on batteries to be completely topped off. I just need to weigh the batteries so the weight ends up somewhat similar.

Thanx guys.

One more question. Anyone understand what the front axle height adjustment is supposed to enhance/change? I raised the axle height and the truck drove more to my liking. I wouldn't have changed this if I wasn't copying another friends setup.

when switching from brushed/nimh to brushless/lipo in a ft t4 what changes to weighting the truck are you making , like , since bl motor weighs 1.1 oz. more than brushed are you removing the 1 oz. by tranny , are you adding the weight difference between nimh and lipo back in ? thats like 5 oz.s ? thanks ray

This is what we have found works for us..

We all run MaxAmps 6000 packs, which weigh more than the Orion packs to begin with.

When you weigh a car the way they used to be run, with 3300's, brushed motors and esc's.. they weigh the same as our trucks with brushless and the MaxAmps LiPo's do today.. If you wanted to get to the same weight of 4200's, you would need to add weight of course.

I still run the 1.5 oz in the rear (just like with the brushed), and I did add 3/4 oz of weight to the front of the battery tray.

I have been running brushless (Novak) with 4200 batteries soon after I started racing this year. My first year racing. From what I've heard about switching to lipo from the 4200 is, minimal weight is needed for the weight to match. IDK though. I haven't measured anything.

Thanx Flybywire, input is appreciated.

Oh, and I have never put weight in my truck. I've only ran it on an indoor high bite track and didn't think the weight would be necessary, considering all the traction.
