Default Digital servo question

Hi guys, got a question for you. I have a HPI vorza with a spektrum sr300 receiver. I just got a hitec hs-7955tg servo and I am having a problem. When I have it all wired up it will twitch and not work right, but when I put the stock servo back in it will work fine. Is this because the receiver has a BEC built into it? How can I get this servo to work? Thanks for any help.

Assuming its an electric RC, the BEC is in the speed control, and can't supply enough power for the higher powered servo.

First step, try a glitch buster-stutter stopper-capacitor on the receiver. Relatively cheap and easy.

Then if that fails, or if you just want to take care of it, an external BEC. Not too expensive, slightly more complicated.
