Default Did I make the right ESC/Motor Combo?

I have a 2wd SC10 brushless RTR that I wanted to do some upgrades too. Friday(Payday!) I treated the truck to a Mamba Max pro 4600 Combo.
I have 3 different pinion gears 18,20 and 24.
I figured I would start with the 20 on the pinion side with the stock 87 for the spur.

The truck has a little more punch on my 2s lipo then it did with the stock 3300kv reedy setup. The only issue is that the motor temps seem to get pretty high. I cant hold my finger on the motor for more than a second.

I know I should use a temp gun but I am sure motor temps are around the 180-190 range(could even be more)

The ESC gets pretty warm but never too hot that I cant touch it and the lipo just get's a little warm.

I have checked to make sure that the truck rolls freely and it does, and the slipper clutch I am running full tight. I am using default settings on the MMP speed control with timing at default as well.

Is this just simply the wrong gearing or should I have got something other than the 4600kv?

Good choice, but I would of went with the castle sct 3800kv combo, you could of spent half on that combo then on the mmp 4600kv, and geared the 3800kv higher... I have my ft sc10 with the sct combo at 26/80 and temps never got over 140-150 on motor and never over 110 on esc, and lipo was barely warm.........

Pretty new to all this electric stuff and figured I would give it a shot and I feel the ESC has some nice features that I could put to use.

Tried reading over the SC10 gearing thread but not much about the MMP and the 4600 all I see is about the 5700kv.
