New 4wd Buggy

New 4wd Buggy
Hello all,
I am on the search for a new 4wd buggy to run on an indoor track in Cali. I have a very cool Team Xtreme Predator as of now but as much as I hate to admit, it is just too hard for me to work on and drive since it is a UK car and you never see them in the States and the general nature of the car is for real drivers not dudes like me. I have also had a Durango but actually liked the Pred better.
Do you guys have any suggestions for a good 4wd?
Thanks!

4wd buggy generally is a drivers class and takes some pretty good skills to be fast around the track. If you didn't like the Durango I would probably go with a B44, but that's more because of parts availability and popularity- you should be able to get some help locally to find a good setup. Setup is very important as a bad setup can make the car very difficult to drive. The Kyosho is also a very good car, but if no one runs one at your track you'll most likely have the same issues as you have with your predator.

I agree with Jonny5. I really like the Kyosho, but went with the B44 due to parts availability and because that was the car with the most track support. I think there is plenty of online support for the K car, but instant feed back can be hard unless people are running it at your track.
as far as setup help and ease of use. the b44 hands down. not my cup of tea but it is definately a winner and can be found at any track. they kyosho would be number two. from what i've seen in person and on here, there are a few setups that are gold and will get you up and running in no time. parts support at your local track may be limited. however with your two previous car choices i don't think that is a big concern for you. the new schumacher car looks great. setup help will probably vary but from the SXII's i've seen, they aren't much a problem to get going good.
i have a Tamiya that i've just gotten and i'm loving it. setup help isn't great but its such a great handling car i haven't needed much. i also have a xx4 that is great everytime out (and is for sale now i don't need to cars). check out my sig for a link.
they'll all be great cars, all the current cars are. tell us a little about what you want and what your looking for.

I am a loan Kyosho driver at our track....all of the other cars are B44's and one TLR xxx4g+......with that being said, my car has been the fastest on the track every week. I have only broken one part on my FS2(rear tower mount)in 4 racemeets and TONS of practice....I do make my regular phone calls for setup help to my St Louis friends as the car is very popular at SmacTrac and they know the car well and I just started with it.........it helps to always have someone more knowledgable than yourself to feed off of.....a stocked parts wall is good as well at your LHS which I DONT have....IF your LHS/track doesnt carry parts for your car....STOCK UP!
my top 3 suggestions for you, all are awesome cars capable of putting you on a podium, good luck and remember.......HAVE FUN!
1- Kyosho FS2
2- ae B44.1
3- Durango DEX 410

Hey Guys,
Thank you so much for the info and help! I think where I went wrong a year ago when I got back into this hobby was I went to OOPLE.COM instead of rctech for my info. I love the cars that are slightly different from the norm but the Pred is just a bit too different. I will say that when the Pred is running well it is very cool and the support I have had from one of the team drivers has been amazing, just too expensive to keep the car rolling.
I am looking for a car that is maybe a little unique but handles well without being too twitchy. I have had several cars over the years and just really started driving at a track on a regular basis about 4 months ago. I actually had a Losi xx4 that I sadly let my neighbor use and never saw it again, my mistake! All of the new 4wd I have driven have felt a little too touchy or very easy to overdrive, this could have to do with set-up and my driving style. At this point I guess I want a car that will be easy to keep running and will drive more like my 22. (I wonder if TLR are going to put out a 4wd anytime soon!)
