Default I want to buy a new lipo

Perhaps it was due to my lack of experience in storing Lipo's, I discharged it down to 40% but one of them is either dead or has a wire internally thats come loose. (apparently your suppose to give them a little charge every few weeks even while in storage, or they may go dead?)

I decided I would like to go faster, and #2 learn how to store Lipo's in the off season so the new one won't go dead as well.

IM thinking of getting a 5000mah Orion Carbon 4s 14.8v with I think a 30-40c discharge at my LHS for $160+tax (Probably around $170)

The Lipo that went dead was a Turnigy 5000mah 14.8v 4s 35-45c

But I first wanted to ask people who knew more about Lipo's that if speed is your goal, as I live within 10 minutes of a sanctioned RC dirt race track, which Lipo would you recommend that might help me overcome my weak driving skills?

No size or quality of lipo will overcome any amount of weak driving skills.

Yea but weak driving skills can be improved with time at the track. In the meantime what should I buy?

Atleast Im honest about my driving, Im not gonna claim to be a good driver when I clearly can't back it up.

Here I got a question. What is this Turnigy Nano-tech all about? Why would it be better than the old batteries?

Should I have lied about my driving skills to you guys since obviously no one wants to help me buy a new battery because I havent been driving RC Cars for the past 13 years?

How am I suppose to improve my driving skills if Im down to one battery pack and no one will point me in the right direction for buying a new one? How bout that for a question mr. smarty pants. Kinda hard to improve driving skills when you have next to no track time, now isn't it?

Look up the word "facetious" why don't you.

Im looking at this one now.

Funnily enough, I agree with the OP right to get a little perturbed with the way people responded.

Either answer a question or don't. No need to take the shot then act cranky when someone pops back.

And from what Ive read, the Gens Ace lipos are affordable and will perform well for you

I would go with either Orion lipo. They have 30C or 40C output which will be smoother since you are learning to improve your driving skills. Smooth throttle control is one of the keys to improved lap times. Orion makes solid products and will last you. make sure your ESC has the low voltage cutoff set accordingly so you do not fry your lipo.

Gens Ace or Turnigy. Some rave reviews on the new Turnigy Nano...I have one being shipped (slllooooowww shipping), haven't tried it.

Can't go wrong with what most people are saying, the gens ace. If you want to go local, I Venom 40C isn't that bad of a deal (I did buy one...) and has a 1 year warranty.

Mostly though with batteries you don't get what you pay for, there can be some upsides to build quality and solder I suppose.
