How much harder can I gear a 1406 4-pole vs cm36?

Hi, first post on this great site!

I'm hoping for input from people who have experience with the 1406 4-pole and cm36 2-pole Castle motors.

I'm trying to figure out which pinion to order to use with my new 4-pole motor. I know running and temp'ing is my best bet, but I'm curious as to what you guys are getting away with.

I'm ran a MMP w/ cm36 5700kv 19/82 (2s) on my Kyosho RT5 and highest
I've temped it so far was ~166. That's after 2 packs through it at WCRC.

My 1406 4-pole just came in and supposedly it's more efficient and 30% more powerful.

Do you think a 21 or 22 tooth pinion is do-able on this new motor?

Thanks guys, looking forward to hearing your responses :)

I think is doable especially since the new motor is much lower KV. I would say put the 22t on there and see what the temps are like and go from there.

Thanks for the replies!

I saw that castle gearing chart and I think it's way on the safe side.

Anyone know what the 1406 5700kv is comparable to in the Orion line up?
