can i run a 2200kv motor with a 2 cell battery on a hyper 9e? if not a 2 cell can i run a 3 cell? and what are the draw backs to running 2 or 3 cells. thanks

A 3 cell lipo will get you closer to the 30,000 RPM sweetspot. The drawbacks of running 2s and 3s is that the 2200kv is going to suck the battery dry in about 5 minutes.

That will be faster , but you will need a high discharge battery (50c or better) to keep up with the amperage the motor is going to draw , otherwise they will likely heat up and swell . What RC is this going in ?

He said it's a Hyper 9e. 1900kv on 4s will have enough power and will have longer runtimes. If you get the 2650kv, you will really limit the amount of cells you could use sucessfully.
