Where have you guys mounted your transponders? I put mine under the radio tray in the space provided. I think last night when I ran it I was having an issue getting my laps counted.

Yes that's a common problem I mounted mines on the back of my servo

Big Will 10-18-2012 08:08 AM

OK thanks. I will move it.

Couple of us ran our 811E's at RCHQ with the transponder under the ESC in that spot.. never missed a click.. then took them to another track and they never picked up a single click. Taped to the back of the servo is a good place.

Awesome Buggy!

JEFFRO503 10-21-2012 07:53 PM

Hey guys.....can I ask exactly what Nano saddle packs you guys are runinng? And where you are buying them?

Just looking ahead on a few different buggy options. Been checking out this thread quite a bit and reading up on the Tekno buggy and HB buggy.

Batteries is kind of a huge investment , so i want to know what I'm getting into here if I were to decide to pick up a Serpent.

Man ....all these buggies have changed so much in the time I was away it's unbelievable.

Can't go wrong with 50C 5000 Gens Ace packs. About 40 bucks each.

Really? Sheesh!.....that's way cheaper than I was expecting. Also Mayor.....since coming into this thread for the very first time , I saw your CF battery hold downs you make.....Beautiful! If I end up getting this buggy I'll be getting a hold of you.

BTW....does anyone know what the certain "height" of what the batteries need to be?

RCmayor 10-21-2012 09:53 PM

Usually around 25mm in height. Those batteries I mentioned are on Hobbypartz.com.

Thanks on the straps, let me know if you get the car.

I'm looking to purchase this buggy has caught my eye since its release and want to give 1/8 scale a shot. A couple of question any real problems with the buggy? Are parts and things I need to buy or upgrade now while building the kit? Also I saw something about a V2 rear end does that come with the new buggy kits or do I have to buy v2 parts separately? Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thx

You don't need to buy anything extra. The buggy out of the box is good and very durable. While building it I would replace the nylon nuts with regular lock nuts. I use longer socket head screws on the inside camber Links and put a lock nut. Also I use socket head screws with recessed washers to mout the shocks to the tower. Other than that just make sure you shim the diffs correctly (1 shim behind the pinion) and yor good to go. Spares are good to have, but I have owned 4 serpent Buggys and the only thing I broke was a titanium shock mount.

They're regular 2s packs. Some people are trying out the shorty packs. Nano-techs can be found on hobbykings website.
