Please explain differences on Clutch Shoe Material Types
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can explain the differences between the 4 major clutch shoe material types with their characteristics and why they would be used. The 4 types: Aluminum, Teflon, Carbon, Red Rulon For 1/8 scale 4WD Buggy Thanks in advance! |
well as i understand it, aluminum grabs the hardest but requires the most maintainance. rulon i rarely see used but im told it grabs hard. carbon is most common because its durable and bites reasonably well, and teflon slips the most and is used mostly on slick tracks where traction is an issue. i have both aluminum and carbon. the aluminum grabs awsome but its too much for my track, i like the carbon because it grabs well, and is pretty much maintainance free till the shoes or springs wear out.
if im wrong someone please correct me. |
