Curious....do any of the other AE vehicles use this ESC/Transponder tray? I couldn't find any... maybe this is a taste of things to come...
I want to use it either way, just for the plain and simple fact that it has some extra cushioning, but I'm one of the unfortunates that has to run a servo extension with my Savox if I want to keep the receiver in the box... (odd that some savoxs fit, but others use shorter wires...)

Some dont want to run an extension, I can appreciate that if there concern is that it might come lose at some point in the future. However, look at the rc8be's ( I have one and think its the greatest thing ever) and most run a servo extension for the esc due to the distance across the chassis. I run an extension for the esc on my rc8be and will have no problem running an extension for my sc10 4x4.
Heres a little trick for those concerned with the extension. For a little added security against the connector coming lose, take a small zip tie, run it between the wires and zip tie the connectors together. Problem solved.

I'm not going to use the receiver box...the tracks I run on are indoor clay tracks so there's really little use for the box for me. I do run a outdoor track every now and then but I'm not worried about getting a few pebbles of dirt on the chassis.

Thanks Lon, the AE just looks to nice with the Viper gear.
TBJ, this isn't a Castle ESC, the buttons do not fail you will not need to cut it off or worry about it failing lol. That port on the on/off button is where the Progauge plugs in, this eliminates the need to unplug the receiver plug to program. Comes in handy if your receiver is tucked away.

Buttons and switches just don't instill a lot of confidence.
