+1.

I'll man up and admit it - I mail ordered a set fully expecting to throw them away because they were garbage, that way it was easy to deny I had ever done any such thing. Color me surprised when I figured out they were an upgrade. Only 1 gram heavier too.

I met the guys who own RPM at a car show about a decade ago, super cool folks, but other than my bearing blaster and parts tray, it's like I'm allergic to the stuff.

That's Crazy... Everything I own is decked out in RPM. Yeah, I have to shave some plastic occasionally, drill out a hole or two, etc. But man. That stuff is a gram or two heavier or sometimes even lighter, Strong as a %^$#@ Brick wall and I don't know. I've ended my race day enough times with some graphite light piece of crap breaking. a couple grams lighter = Day over?

Bah. You're allergic. Us Oregonians (Weather from hot to cold weekly on plastics) We're addicted. =D

Oh, and No BLBound. I was speaking generally. I guarantee they will have them around the newyear with the sc10 4x4 2.0 Kit or RTR something. With all the mods having to be done. They're just waiting for the team drivers to finish "figuring it out" before they select the fixes and mass produce it. It's inevitable.

I'm sure by the newyear that will be the case. They're working on a 2.0 for this truck as well with all the necessary fixes that the Team drivers are figuring out. It's inevitable.

Losi trucks are so fast, so hard running that we can't drive like little 2 wheel drives and have clean sharp in lines. They blow right by us up out of the corners every time. We have to find a way to power through the corners.

The Sc10 if you try it: Try power and shoot through a corner, you can barely get around the damn thing without letting off the throttle, then punching it to get the back end to break a little. When the "great steering" (I agree) is under power we lose nearly 50% of it's turning, and that's the rear end pushing it out of the line we intended. Doing that modification stops that. My Slash 4x4 does power cornering better than this truck, (and that's kinda sad for how much I abuse and ignore my Slash and baby my SC104x4 IMO)

The bottom line is we're trying to compete in all things with the Losi. We want to be beating the losi's and not be out of the running when we don't make a clean corner "one time" and the losi's blow by to never be seen again.

You others correct me if i'm wrong. (I'd want to know)
maybe it has something to do with different tracks, USA style and Europe style.
maybe our tracks are a bit smaller/and narrower, more tecnical, more sharp ( slow speed ) 180 turns ?
maybe a AE sc10 4x4 does it better on europe style 1/10 clay tracks and not so good on big 1/8 scale tracks

Thanks Craig for sharing my sentiment...I think the only thing I've ever admitted to using is rpm's gear covers back in the rc10 worlds car days...everything else was always too flexy...mostly "meant" for the guys who bash so parts would last longer...who are rpm's target buyers (95% of r/c guys anyway) & which is why they are still around. They make good parts & have great ideas...just usually not meant for the hardcore racer guys. I'm excited to hear that these new 4x4 arms should make a difference on the track as well as durability

Thanks coyote...I was wondering if I had missed out on graphite arms.

And this truck steers great.
This truck has no need "to push the throttle harder" a agressive way of driving.
Punch the throttle with a pinned front end and you'll feel the horsepower translated to the ground.

Punch the throttle with a non-pinned front end and you'll feel the... well, the front lifting off the ground.

VERY WELL PUT! you cant drive perfect lines when a Losi is on your AZZ ( i went through this for 3 solid days this past weekend). i can catch up to them but it is hard to hole them off because you cant "pick" an alternate route. and yes my slash also would power slide better and actually i think i would have done better this weekend with my Hyper BBUUTT as i was doing maintenence on my truck last night. my front arms were TOAST, had a siezed rear tensioner bearing and my steering servo arm was loose. A2 the truck felt great but A3 i couldnt hold a line and it was nosing over bad as well as pitching into the turns. and all of this makes sense now! wish i could hit RESTART!!!
I completely went over the truck last night and will do some testing today:
new front arms (RPM's on the way)
pinned slipper
RCshox V2 pistons
3-3 antisquat
4mm/2mm RC
will chime back in this afternoon with results.....

I see RPM arms in my future. Are the wider Hazard wheels legal for ROAR/RC Pro events? Haven't checked rules yet. Marcus, are you running aftermarket belt tensioner? Going to try and do some TnT at Mike's this Saturday if they leave the offroad track open.

STRC makes the pulleys.

I'm heading to the track tonite. Gotta try out the "new and improved pinned slipper"

I'm tying 45F/40r, Yellow fronts/ blue rears, rcshox 2 stage pistons V1,garolite pads, 22mm RH.

I'll report back.

I am still using the same pulley tensioner and and bearing. I think it is just a matter of oiling it, which I do on a regular basis.

I am also anxious to here what you think of the truck with it pinned! Keep e posted.

Yeah, I know, but I have to run up to GCR to meet Mike Clark. He's running XRay Nitro Challenge at onroad track this weekend. Kid stuff in AM, then up there, couldn't be back to Katy until 3:00 or later. The STRC pulleys look good. Doubt they'll solve the bearing issues, but I think will stay truer and smoother than stock composite ones. BTW, had already ID'd the tensioner bearings as a potential trouble spot on this car. My spares from Avid got here before the truck LOL. Something that needs to be looked at after every race IMO.

would anyone here in Houston be willing to drill the shaft for me to do the pinned modification for me if I hook them up with a few extra bucks? I'm not real sturdy with a drill plus lack some of the tools.
