Motor's, tenshock 4000kv or castle's 3800kv Should run you about 150-180 depending on if you buy new or used...... |
Learned alot from kinwald this weekend @ the showdown!
Also got hacked out of a great run. |
I was also looking at the 1410 and 3800 kv castle combo. I like the price lol but will this be reliable and keep up with the more pricey combos? I was looking for the mmp with the 3800 but couldnt seem to find it. Im all new to electric and this truck so bear with me. How is the sc10 4x4 out of the box? Any thing needed as far as hop ups. I havent made my mind up to go with this truck or the losi 4x4

In the RcCarAction magazine Castle seems to be releasing the SCT race pro edition. Which includeds MMP and 1410 3800 kv motor. Look at the pic I attached. But cant seem to find it anywhere not even on Castle's website. (Not my picture found it on another thread, godofcable Posted the picture) In my opinion the sc10 4x4 is better than the losi. You dont have to hope and pray that you dont dump your pack and cant finish the race. But that all depends on your lipo though. I have heard the Losi is easier to drive out of the box. I have been racing my sc10 for a couple months know, box stock with no promblems. I guess it all depends on your driving style and which truck fits your style better. |

MMP will require a BEC if you have a power hungry servo, so factor that into your pricing.

I like how much less noise the sc10 4x4 makes compared to any other 4x4 sc.

Is the sc10 a pain to wrench on thou? Also does it use metric or sae screws? I'm leaning towards the 1410 with the 3800 but would like more of
Your guys opinions |

with a proper driver and driver bits, and knowledge of ow the truck is assembled, the truck is very easy to work on. i have personally taken a diff out and put it back in within 15 min.
i ran an MMP/lrp 5.5 550, with a xp ds 1015, with no problems glitching for 2 months. it would stutter while hammering the throttle up and down the street though, because of the high traction and such. i switched to the xerun 120amp v2.1... it is a better esc with better programing options, and its cheaper too. |

I cannot describe how little maintance this truck is vs. how much track time you get. We run seven minute qualifiers and ten minute mains plus whatever track time you get in practice. My truck looks brand new after four race days, and the only maintenance I've done is go over it to make sure nothing is going to fall off in between rounds (it never does) and blow it off at the end of the day. I think I deglazed the slipper pad twice, and cleaned the hinge pins once. It uses all metric hardware, well, mine did till I started building some parts for it... |

If you buy s mmp by itself for $129.99, you can find a 3800 1410 castle motor by itself on ebay for $60 or so. For towers price of $245.99, I would rather have the mmp with a tekin pro4 motor & be sensored for just a few dollars more.
