WCRC is high bite so Barcodes in gold or Suburbs MC all day long. Some people try other tires and compounds but always seem to end up with these.

I read it wrong, says high bite track. ok. So if I were for a medium bite track, I would take his setup and raise the rear ball stud and maybe go b hole on the rear hub?

He has 60g under the slipper? jesus, does he run a gear cover, lol. I am not sure I could get that much there.

What is a "steel diff insert" list in the setup?

Also, I have no idea what stop gap button head screw is. never even say anyone use stop gap before.

its the hole on your front hub located towards the outside-back of the hub, it limits max throw of steering due to ackerman, i always have just ran a button head screw in there, nice to see it listed on a setup that way, i always thought that was 0mm, guess its technically .5mm.

Yeah, gold barcodes are the tires for SCT at that track.

Maifield's setup = Coupled Slipper
Similar to the old pinned setup - interesting

Wildcat1971 08-29-2012 02:43 PM

hmm, I didnt even notice that. Coupled = front and rear slip as one? and not seperate right?

Poor man's C-Diff :ha: (jk) Or sponsored driver that can't use one :o

JS 08-29-2012 02:49 PM

lol
Went thru it all
Locked stock slipper, MTK basket, Pinned setup, basket with Exotek front locked clutch.
Finally settled with the Center Diff - never went back to the other setups :D

Rather obvious the center diff rides were slippen on the 2nd heat.

Then Mayfield's smooth & very fast Reedy 550 .
On that slick track ?
Played a big roll in his victory , as everyone can see ....

Now I think about it they put that layout in about a week before the super nats and only let super nat drivers on it so it didn't have enough driving on it to bring traction up to normal for wcrc.
Even with their regular schedule that track takes a few days to get any traction. Completely different tires for the first day or two after the build.

I thought WCRC rebuilt the track after the 1st weekend with the buggies.
Then 3 days (practice/qualifiers) then 4th day Main.

Yeah, could be... but there were no where close to the number of cars lapping the track compared to a normal week. If I remember correctly only super nat entrants were allowed on. Could be wrong, didn't go that week but that's what I remember.

That track gets good about a week into a new layout.

true. Just the participants for the super nats.
I believe they closed the facility on Wed for the rebuilt.
Maybe different tires the first couple of days then they settled to Gold Barcodes.....
