I was talking to someone about that tonight, technically it's still just an 1/8th scale conversion no matter how Wes tries to market it. He's making whatever parts for it, and using 808 shocks, diffs, drive train, etc.

It's not an upgrade kit based on a 1/10th kit (like the SSC chassis for the Traxxas Slash), it's an SC conversion kit based on an 808.

Personally I don't care either way. I think the limitations should be battery, motor, wheel base, track width, weight, tires and max droop.

You should be able to run whatever you want as long as you meet those conditions, just like nitro.

Do you think the rules are the way they are because short course has become the entry level of racing so rules allow for ease of entry and so you stand a chance? Or just the ROAR pounding us?

I think it's just that the class has evolved. 3 years ago Jammin/Ofna were the pinnacle of 4wd SC racing. It's changed a lot and fast since then.

But you can't call a class "Open 4wd SC" when it's truly not open.

Dont forget about the slash 4x4! Its funny how traxxas came out with short course trucks first and everyone buys them but once a "race" truck comes out nobody wants them anymore. I really think if traxxas would come out with a "racer" side of there cars they would sell and traxxas wouldnt just be known for basher trucks.

I measure mine at the expansion joint where the center chassis meets the front/rear - that way I can quickly find it ever time.

It's not roar banning converted cars, just certain series. This keeps coming up from time to time, but nowhere does roar ban 'converted' or 'base off of' chassis. There is a min-max width, length, wheelbase, weight, tire, body, etc but nothing even mentions 8th scale conversions.

Truggies are a sore point with me...

Mike Jenkins repeatedly tells people they will never build race trucks and/or a "race team". He says that sitting on top of his incredibly competitive Fullsize Short course Truck.

If they made:

BND: fkn 6 traxxas remotes...
KIT: Let kids build their trucks with dad.
One Truck of each category designed for racing. A Rustler X? a Slash X? etc.

I can tune the SHIT out of my Traxxas Trucks. Now I don't have to spend 1,000 dollars and only have the 'traxxas' diffs left? I don't know about you guys, my Traxxas trucks are fun to tune, due to the amazing differences parts and (for example) -1 camber does to bring the truck alive and the thrill it gives.

I don't mind truggies...

As long as I don't have to marshal them. :D

I just picked up a sc10 4x4 and was trying to find set-up sheets from the spektrum this year to start with but can't find any? all I find is outdoor and blue groove any help thanx

use the Ryan/Ryan Race of Champions setup, Drive, and tune to your style from there. It's universally the best starting setup. "starting"

I compared the old manual and new one and it seems that they have changed the design of the cartridge to accept the o-ring. The old cartridge has tapered seal. As we all know it's prone to leaking so they have changed the design and just been quiet about it.

As long as it's marketed as a 1/10th scale kit, much like the other "1/10 scale SC trucks", I bet Super Dave allows them. I'm in wait and see mode.
