Default Cooling Fans for electric motors

This thread is an attempt to bring attention to the problem with broken cooling fans on the rx8, mmp etc. Maybe someone will make one that wont break fan blades or completely fail.

Yea, that's what I really do think is the problem, there's not enough protection to the fan and at the speed that it turns for such small parts debris can/will destroy these little things easily.
I have had some of the hardest impacts and all my fans are still going.

yea, if you have a good cover it should be fine. i have found that what typically breaks them is getting rocks or other debris stuck in there which stops the fan and burns it out. one of those outerwears covers would work good (ive never used one myself though) or maybe attatch some type of porous foam over the holes. i havent done anything to mine though and hey are all running fine. i just clean them out every once and a while to remove buildup
