Default 80's Tamiya and Kyosho

Hey Everyone,
I've got a new site to help anyone here that has an old r/c buggy that they need help with. I know when I started restoring my Kyosho Optima I couldn't find any info. So I built a site that can help people keep these great kits from going into the dumpster.
I can answer any questions you might have, just post to this thread or drop me an e-mail.

That's great 403. is the Optima built or are you getting a NIB kit?

it's a built Optima...I would die for the very first Optima in NIB condition. I've only seen it one time on ebay and it went for $700+

I've seen a few Turbo and Mid's though in NIB condition.

Also, I just came across a set of Tecnacraft aluminum wheels for the Optima

I think the hardest thing to find for my Optima was the original Sand Super pin spikes and decals. I've got the tires now had to pay 10 bucks for each tire. The decals I'm recreating with a CAD program. It's the only way to reproduce decals for the old buggies. If you need a set, when I get the file done I think I'm going to post it in my decal section. That way people can just download it and take it to Kinkos.

Nice website

I saw it when you posted it on the Tamiya Club forums, I'm a member there too!

I've got a few vintage buggies, but i can't keep them NIB, I just have to build them to display.

My favorites are a newly built Kyosho Triumph, Hirobo Tomcat, and a NIchimo Luminous.

The cars I want most of all are an AYK Viper and a Hirobo Ashura (1/12th 4wd). These seem to be the hardest to get too

I own a Tamiya Grasshopper 2, it was my first R/C car, does that classify as a classic? it's a 1988 car...

I last used it 6 months ago, it had a 14x2 540 motor and ESC, but unfortunately the stock tires, as NOTHING fits on the Tamiya rims.

I've given up running it, the woeful handling and even worse durability was the killer.

Hey Bender, the AYK Viper is very hard to find built, I'm not sure I've ever seen one for sale NIB. The Viper Shuttle I think is the hardest to find out of the AYK off road buggies. I love the fact you have Hirbos in your collection. There is a Tomcat right now on eBay NIB for $300.00 usd. I think it's JR-RC that's selling it.

Nice to see other Vintage collectors on this site. I have/had:

Tamiya Superchamp (traded away)
Tamiya Avante
Tamiya Avante 2001 (traded away)
Tamiya Hornet
Tamiya Top Force
Tamiya Frog
Tamiya Hornet

Vintagercweb, I actually have a pair of those Sand Super tires sitting in one of my boxes right now. They have zero wear on them.

403, those rims look great on the original Ultima. I've only seen a few in my time, great find! BTW that AYK Buffalo NIB made me drool on my keyboard
