Default SC10 increase in speed....

Ok so I have an Assc. SC10....I love this truck...lots of fun to drive...but I want to get some speed out this pig...I like the Reedy 3300 in it but there has to be a way to get some increased power.....any suggestions ?? Gearing ?? Motor ??? I use the standard 6 cell Nimh batteries....not wanting to make the jump to lipo's yet...especially since I have other vehicles to drive with these....

lipo sounds like the answer, and a faster motor, like a castle 3800 4 pole system

You could upgrade the brushless system, or upgrade to lipo's.

If you're just bashing.. You can even stick a 3s in it with the stock reedy 3300kv and SC450 ESC.. It's designed for either 2s or 3s.. That makes quite a difference

Default You need more juice!!!!!!

Your batteries are most likely limiting you........that motor is capable of using more power than your nimh can give it.

A faster brushless system is worthless if you cannot supply it the power it needs.....sorry but you are going at it backwards....get the juice needed to feed the speed...then go for the speed.

agreed with everyone.....no point in upgrading anything else power-wise until you have the packs to support it. if you cant afford lipo now, then save up. you can get two hard case packs and a good charger at hobbypartz.com under 100 shipped.

I know some will hate on Turnigy, but it's all ive ran for Lipos and havent had 1 problem with them.

If your not familiar with hobby king, you can get a lipo charger and lipos for the same, if not cheaper than a good nimh.

spend about $50 on the charger/power supply, and a 3s will be around the $35 mark and youll have speed for days.

Looking to purchase a brushless sc10. Are they that slow? I will run 40C two cell lipos. If anyone is running this setup, I would like your opinion on speed and torque. Thanks

better to just go with Lipo's than upgrading your motor, if you follow the instructions and really read up on them you shouldnt have a problem, i know my brother was worried for a long time, finally convinced him to put one of my 2s lipo's in his blitz he has not ran his nihm's since that day :-) now i got 2 people using my lipos :/

Since you already have a brushless motor and if you dont want to make the jump to lipo, then grab a 7 cell Nihm, gear the truck up a couple of teeth and see if that will satisfy you. If not, then unfortunately lipo is the next step.

Do not want to go with 3S batteries. Anyone confirm that this rig will have plenty of torque/speed with 2s 40C lipos? Are 40C's ok? Looks like I may order today so any quick info would be great. Mostly wanting to hear about speed and torque of stock brushless motor. Thanks again all.......

What type of speed are you looking for...drag racing speed, or keeping up in the stock class speed???
