I ordered two 4S 5000mAh packs at the end of november. I live in Poland but they were shipped to my family in USA (and are about to be shipped to me). So they were not used at least for a month now. If I shipped them by sea transport they wouldn't be used for another ~2 months. Is it ok or the voltage may drop below 3v and cause BIG problems? I could always ask my aunt to store-charge them before shipping but honesly that would be difficult as she doesn't know how to use the charger and LiPo's (I simply don't want her to have problems).

Do you "prepare" the packs before shipping to customer so that they are at "safe voltage"?

Would that change anything if they were put in a lipo bag? I assume it's not...

I just received my 4 cell from them and it came with all 4 cells at 3.80v. Not sure how 3 months would affect that but that appears to be what they ship out at.

Thanks for the info.

LiPo's self-discharge is rather slow but I would like to hear an opinion of a person who has some more experience than me.

You have nothing to worry about. Lipo self discharge is negligible over several months.

Thanks! That's some money-saving info! Don't have to spend ~$40 on air shipping!

Anybody have a clue as to when more of these will be available?
