agreed here. Love my SB, but if AE came out with a 4wd buggy, that would be great . Who knows, if 4wd picks up sufficiently next year with more 4wd buggy entries ( Academy will have its pro version out by then, and i think some other manufacturers have stuff in the works ) Ae could get persuaded to make something.
the RC18T has my eyes on it, but I want to know more about what exactly to expect with it. mini racing is really popular where I am going to move to.

My thoughts exactly... so they think there is enough of a market to make a compeltely new class of car, but not enough market to make a 4wd electric car, which we've all been begging for for years?!?

I raced my mini-t with six cells and a baja motor against another mini-t that was five cells and it had a mamba in it and i beat him,it was a decent size dirt oval, but the mambas have more rpm so I was in and out of the corners alot faster,I was ready to buy a mamba until that race, now I will see what happens wed. nite when I race him again,I am also going to throw a couple more teeth on my mini-t,dont get me wrong the mamba was fast, but not what I expected

Definately found my Christmas wishlist! Was searching for a cheap Mini-T, but Think I will wait for this to come out. 4WD and AE name brand on a T4 look-alike, I'm all over that!
Not bad pricing, most places are posting $169 to order. All out of stock atm, of course.
Wish I knew when it was coming out ...

With the recent additions to 1/18 scale offroad trucks (mini-t, etc) and the to-come additions of the RC18T, Duratrax Mini Quake, and Trinity 18 scale -- What do you all think the likelyhood is of a new class to race in in the near future?
As for me, Im hoping so. And I plan to start with the Associated RC18T

i think AE would have been smarter to make this little guy 2wd, with the option for a bolt on 4wd kit for the bashers.
but if their intention was to start a new class i think this wont take off as well as the mini T. theres no catchy name either. mini t is pretty damn catchy
ill still buy one being an associated man, the bashing potential and the thought of seeing 5" tires on it are too much to take lol

We didn't make the 18T to 'compete', necessarily, with the Mini-T. We did it 4wd to make it better. 4wd is ALWAYS more fun to drive, and this is more of a toy than a race vehicle. Yes, we KNOW people will race it, and yes, there will be a class for it at your local track (along with duratrax's truck and trinity's spyder). So, why NOT make it 4wd. How come Carisma didn't make it 4wd for Losi to begin with?
We just thought 4wd would be more fun. I love this thing...it's way run to drive on carpet, dirt, where ever we can run it.
You won't be disappointed.

ehh, well as long as its stamped AE somewhere im down with it reguardless. my local LHS (xtreme RC in new milford, CT) just got bought out. the dude who owned it before was an AE fan and the dude who just bought it is a losi guy. bah! ill talk him into it
will it have a motor mount available to strap an 11x2 mod in it? hehe seriously though, what kind of hop ups can we expect for this lil dude? will the brushless systems made for the mini t be compatible or will we see some made just for the 18T?
details girlfriend!
