Started w/ Caster fusion for the battery set up,never really had any reasons to change. Now have several of their cars and trugs ,tried an rc8 conversion from a buddy who got board, great car but Casters serve me fine.Very durable for my heavy fisted drivin style...

I started with the Losi 8ight-E 2.0 and I found that the car didnt turn the way I like a car to turn. It jumped well, but just couldnt get it to turn. I also had problems with stripping spur gears like crazy! Ive never DNF'd as much as I had with that car. Also the turnbuckles are too small for the rod ends so they tend to strip and change your toe in/out and caster/camber.
I ended up getting rid of the Losi for the RC8Be and I absolutly love this car! This thing turns like a touring car and jumps really well and more importantly, this thing is unbeliebably durable. Ive crashed this thing so many times and i have yet to break anything (knock on wood).
I would have to say that the RC8Be stepped my racing up to whole another level.

My E-1/8 was a Factory Team RC8 I converted in '07. Used a RC Product Designs kit and rc-monster stuff. Honestly, the car was a POS, but it was good enough for a budding racer. It had some serious durability issues. I used Quark speedo and a Neu 1512 1.5d (3300kv). Also used a Neu 1509 2d and a 1512 2200kv. That car was so fast it was just retarded. Then I upgraded the Quark to a Mamba Max that was slightly modded so I could run on 5s. Drove pretty well but the durability was just pathetic. I don't think I completed a single race day without at least one DNF due to a broken part in a year of racing.
My next car was an Xray 808. Talk about a difference in quality. That car was absolutely indestructible. I am still have the car and many of the parts are the originals from '08. Car turns on a dime. It can get a little skittish though, but quality wise, every car I have owned since the Xray has been a let down.
Picked up ve8. Nice car, but really needed a lot of upgrades. Bought a HHH chassis which was a work of art. The car was kind of heavy but very stable on the track. Never could get it to drive how I like, so sold it. Cheap out the box, but by the time you upgrade it, it really isn't any cheaper than the more expensive cars.
Bought a Losi Eight T 2.0. Excellent durability but could never get it drive right for me so sold it and...
Got the xt8 '09 with RCM chassis/conversion. By far the most fun car to drive. Handles anything you throw at it. Very stable on the track and that good ole Xray quality. Very fun and way over powered!! LOL.
Decided to try something new so I've been experimenting with the Losi 810e for the ultra light weight and really like it. I'm probably going to race it the rest of the year.

My first 1/8th electric was a Hyper 9e, still is and will probably be my ride for the forseeable future.
I've seen every revision and part change and currently run the Bump edition Hyper 9e. I have had a converted Losi (twice actually) and could never get it to perform as well as the Hyper.

Started as a noob with RC8e in 2009 (MMM and Castle).
Got an MBX6 which I converted in 2010 (XeRun and Hacker C50 XL).
Mugen quality was a new world compared to RC8. Got a couple of cheap MBX5Rs that I converted for practice runs.
Plan on using the MBX6 this season too...

1. Home converted Ofna Ultra MBX-R2
2. RCPD RC8
3. RCM RC8
4. RCM/custom RC8
5. Tekno 8ight
6. Losi 8ight
7. Ofna Hyper 9E
8. Tekno V4 RC8
9. Castle 8ight (just for fun)
I mostly drive the RC8 and have had the most success with it. The RCPD conversion was not great in terms of weight balance and drive line angles. The RCM conversion was pretty nice except the chassis was really wide and I couldn't find any body that would fit. It also had drive line angle problems. The Tekno V2 8ight was nice in terms of quality, but the weight balance was really tail heavy. Turning was great, but jumping was difficult. The Losi 8ight conversion is pretty good, but the motor mount doesn't work very well due to the plastic spacer that goes under it. The battery tray fits big batteries, but it sits up rather high. The Hyper 9E is a good car with some quality issues. The layout is good, but the quality of the parts is pretty low. I bought the Castle conversion for the 8ight because it was $20 on closeout and I was curious to see how bad it was. It was pretty bad. The best two are the Tekno V4 RC8(with a custom motor mount) and the Hyper 9e with some mods. I have no doubt that the Tekno D8 would be a good car too.

started with a used Mugen MBX5 converted using an RCPD conversion.
Moved on to an RC8 with RCPD conversion and really liked it. In general, for me at least it was pretty durable. Then went with an RC8T converted with an RC Monster conversion. nice conversion but I think I got more chassis flex so I had to go with some alloy braces instead of the tubes that taco'd a few times. after that, it was a blast to drive.
next up with the Hyper 9E, man, love that car. everything laid out where I felt it should be and it handled great. Then took off some time from 1/8 electric.
Now, back with a tekno V4 D8. excited to start 1/8 electric again.

I started with a Cen buggy (Mamba Max and Feigao motor), got hooked and moved to a better buggy a Kyosho 777 and better motor (Neu), experimented with a SH Z-CAR (mech brakes), replaced my worn out Kyosho with a Losi 8ight 2.0, current ride is a HB Hara D8 Tekno V4 (MMM and Neu 1512 motor) and I am experimenting with a ultra light Losi 810e.
