this is true. i have 3 packs and 2 of the three wires have gone south on me. no big deal. i use the stock wires for charging and i made a set with castle 4mm bullets. the packs themselves are very good. the plugs/wires, not so much...

any alternatives around the same price?

Intellect batteries, No guessing about the ROAR approval if that is what you need ,price is very close and performance is very good.
