looks pretty cool

im not a huge traxxas fan, i owned a brushless erevo.. and hated it, i think the 2200kv and the MMM was just too much power for it... but i hear the slash is strong.

This guy, TheJang, is who did it first! I didnt know who you were, I just knew you were from northern Cal, so I gave you props in my first post.
I am going to run a different powerplant next week....my local track is tight, high traction, and indoors, so, I can get away with the stock electronics, but I am going to try a Novak hv 4.5 with my SXX LRP anyway just to see how crazy itll run....
thanks for the idea, man!

These things are very close in dimensions (wheelbase and width) to the Hyper 10TTs.

Keep us posted, Happy Meal!

If you want to do this to your 4x4 slash, you will need the chassis, Aluminum center driveshaft, Losi wing mount, Ofna body and wing, 2 traxxas battery posts, and a touring car body post. All in all, about $50 in parts....!

In order to keep costs down, I run short course tires and wheels that i already use i my 4wd SC. Ive run a bunch of different compounds this last weekend (first time running the truck). I would prefer a little more steering, but this is a stock truck with no swaybars and the Traxxas steering servo, so, I am sure that it can be tuned out.
Perhaps thejang can comment on this, as he is more familiar with the conversion.

isn't this more expensive than just buying a 1/10 truggy?

pede 4x4 is about $400 (before you do any conversion)

hyper 10tt roller is $200
hyper 10tt RTR is $270

Pede Roller is $149 on ebay all day. The parts needed(including the body) total about $50 bucks if you already have short course tires and wheels. If you dont, then yes, the total cost will be about $40 more, but most people have short course tires and wheels.

Since both rollers need esc and motor, these arent included in the comparison.
So, basically, they cost the same...so why do it?
1. It is easier to drive, and that is before tweaking the suspension/diffs/etc.
2 It is WAAAAY easier and cheaper to get parts. Almost all the parts are from a slash 4wd, so every hobby shop has parts for it.
3. it is WAAAAAAAAAY harder to break than the TT.

I've seen the rollers on ebay go for $150. I've been thinking of doing this conversion after seeing it on URC. What an awesome conversion.

If it isn't too much trouble, would you be able to post up the part numbers for the parts that you purchased, specifically the wing mount, wing, and body? Also the posts part numbers would be great as well. Where did you purchase the parts?

Here's an approximate price (for my purposes) for a roller, motor, esc, tires, and conversion parts to make this truggy. I'm leaving the price of Radio, receiver, and servo out.

Roller - $150 (add $20 for shipping), price from ebay
Motor/ESC - Best bang for the buck, I'd run a MMP SCT edition, $200. Only thing I hate is having to use an adapter to run 5mm pinions.
Wheels - $40-50
Conversion parts - $50-70 (high side)

Total price: $450 hmmmmm....I like it

I will post the part numbers for you tonight. Why do you need a 5mm adaptor? It is a 540 style motor, right? If it is, there are 11 pinions available from 13 tooth to 22 tooth from Traxxas. If you are running a 550 motor, you can get 5mm pinions from castle, Novak, and others.

Sorry about that. I have a Losi SCTE and I use the MMP SCT combo. Losi uses Mod 1 pinions and its been a pain to find 3mm Mod 1 pinions so I had to use an adapter to go from 3mm to 5mm so I can use my Losi Mod 1 pinions. Are traxxas pinions 3mm or 5mm? If they're 3mm then it'll definitely fit on the MMP SCT motor. If not, you'll need an adapter.

Thank you for taking the time to post the part numbers. Looking forward to seeing them

Awesome, thanks! I noticed you bought the Center diff. Was that so you can convert to a slash setup?
