Hi Nova, I'm running a 17 pinion right now, just put it on . I was running a 16 and like that too. My motor is 1900 kv, so it's pretty close to yours. I'd run the 16 first, then try the 17.
I raised the rear wing because it looked like the rear wheels could contact the wing on a hard landing. I adjusted my ride height to 29mm in back and 28 in front, not much change really. Nothing other than those two things.

Cheers Aaron, Where's can i found suitable pinions that are compatiable with mugen spurs and 5mm mamba shafts? I noticed it has got 0.8 on the one that came with the mamba motor. Is there are specific pitch to look for?
Thanks

Wow dude, you giving some seriously bad advice here... A 17T pinion is too much for the 1900kv Tekin motor. Use 15T on normal tracks and 16T on big track with this motor. Your putting unneeded stress on the motor and ESC with a 17T. Do don't win races on the straight ;-) With 15T I'm a little faster than the nitro's. With 16T I'm a lot faster. You don't need any faster.

As for the 2200kv: 13T normal track, 14T big track.

Morgoth, that's your opinion. I am using a 17 right now and have not had any temp problems at all. My speed control is running at 4 lights and my motor temp actually went down when I changed to the 17 pinion. I am relaying my own experience with my motor/speed control/eco combo. Thanks for telling me how to win races, anytime you want to lay em' down and run, let me know.

I got myself novak 12 , 13, 14, 15, 16, 17T pinions which will give me the choice to work out what is best for our local track/set up plus some home bashing high speed runs.
It will be a good feeling not to slug around with all the extra gear associated with my nitro cars.
And changing pinions is simple as apposed to a clutchbell on a nitro.
Can't wait to smoke all the nitro's at our local track.
Anyone using the mamba 2200kv and monster ESC on a mugen ECO? What settings have you got on your ESC for open bashing & Racing on a tight/twisty track?
Thanks

Hopefully will have my MRX4 converted soon! Work in progress
