How quickly addicted have you become to the hobby???
Hey,
I purchased my Traxxas Slash 2wd back in October 2010 and the guy at the hobby shop told me that brushless is the way to go. He then showed me the VXL system. I stated to myself that, I just spent $250, I will never spend another $150, to go a little faster. Low and behold I bought the VXL 2 weeks later.
Then the guy at the hobby shop said that the next speed step was lipo. I was sooooooooooooo sure that I would never buy a lipo because the batteries were like $80 and the chargers were even more. HAHAHA Yea right.
Lets put it this way, it is now February, I have been in the sport for a total of 5 months (WOW, LONG TIME HUH!!!) and I have no more NiMh batteries, I think like 5 or 6 Lipos, and 5 cars...HAHA
Whats your story?

Then back to truggy and a monster truck then 3 savages back to back a Mammoth ST Pro brushless savage x brushless my worst mistake was a Slash 4x4 with MMm 2200. I was big into the hobby in my teens. Rocked my Midnight Pumpkin at the local track, and actually won a couple races... Somehow... yes, while pullin' monster-wheelies... hahahaha
Then college came, and out went R/C. Too much to do, and no time for it.
I just got back into it about 5 years ago, in my late 20's and I'm getting more and more into it every year. Currently running 4 different cars/MT's and I can see more R/C's in my near future.
This is a great hobby, and a very versatile hobby. I personally enjoy the aspect of learning the "ins and outs" of a new vehicle, and then mastering the driving of that vehicle. Tons of fun!

Thank you lol, to the main point, it IS horrible. Addiction is bieng kind. But in defense, any hobby or anything I do for that matter, I want to do the best I can at. Painfully, with rc cars it costs money and lots of it. Especially when you start running multiple classes. I was either going to start drag racing my mustang or race rc cars, I chose rc cars thinkin it was cheaper. By now I would already had my procharger

I hope not too quickly.. just getting back into it and like you initially, i cringed at the 400$ i paid for a b4.1 kit and some other odds and ends I needed.
In total ive spent about 550 so far and thats not including the esc, motor, batteries or even a radio! :X (i already had a castle sidewinder and 5700 i got a few years back on a huge sale, but never got to run because I was a kid with no job!)
b4.1: $270
servo: $30
paint and tape: $50
charger: $100
I have a feeling its going to be an expensive summer and my mountain bike will hate me for not upgrading it!

Hi, my name is Joe and I am a RC ADDICT. In a little over 2 years I have spent well over $25,000+ on RC cars, parts, and related items. I bought a pit trailer as well as rented 2 acres with a pole barn and put a 130x80 track up just so I could practice. At one point had over 23 cars and most were race ready. I love this hobby and along the way have made some really good friends. For those of you just starting out be very careful because it's like a drug!!
