Default best nitro engine for the $$

so, ive decided instead of buying a new piston arm, rear bearing, and crankcase for my .12 CVX ive decided to just get a new engine.

i noticed (wish i had noticed before) that the .12 CVRX has double the output of the .12 CVX (.58 to 1.0 hp), so the CVX is out. the .12 CVRX has even a crap load more hp than the .15 CVX

so im looking at the .12 CVRX (only .2 hp gain to go to the .15) but i was wondering what other engines are out there that are comparable in price (120 bucks US give or take) that run as solid as the OS CVRXs and have as much output?

i might also add that i just bought the FT blue header pipe from team associated, and the RPM tuned pipe, so if possible id like to keep exhaust compatibility too

I have had real good luck with the Thunder Tiger .12 EVO it is quite a bit faster than my O.S. .12 TR in my Mugen MST-1. I have had many comments about the horsepower of this engine when at the track. The best part is this engine only costs 89 dollars.

The manufacturer's claimed HP numbers are worthless. Don't use that to compare engines. Xtreme R/C magazine is working on an actual functioning dyno for R/C engines..but until then, these numbers mean nothing.

For ease of tuning and user-friendly performance, you can't beat an O.S. engine.

If you want power, look into the Sirio line of engines sold by Trinity.
