i dont think you are going to find a 'good' servo anywhere for $10 especially one that goes in a 1/10 SC truck. sorry

Ben, not true!!!

the D227f at hobbypartz.com for $15, basically rules. the D226f is if you need more torque/less speed. I run the 227 in my sc10 and it's perfect.

+1 on this servo, I run the D226F in my T4 and it is great. Has held for over a year now, I also run one in my onroad TC.

I would avoid the 645MG....I put them in my 2 blitz's and after a a few races they dont center properly.....several guys have had the same issue....i dont know if its just the new ones or what....my 1st 645mg was awesome, but the last 2 were horrible!!

I would go for a Savox they have 2 servos for under $40....I cant think of the m# right now.... that alot of guys locally have switched to instead of the 645mg and other's for 1/10 scale stuff...thay are a little tall so fitment can be an issue.

I have several EXI servos and I am happy with them....I am far from a pro-level driver and do not have the budget for $100 plus servos in all my cars(I wish I did)... I honestly doubt a $100 servo would put me in 1st place or even improve my odds with my skill level at this time (maybe someday)....that being said the $100 servo would without a doubt be better built...I have pulled the EXI apart and there are some things on the inside I wish were better(soldering and wire connections and such)

I have an EXI 226 in my RC8b for steering and a EXI 227 for throttle and so far they have worked very well.....I ran a 226 in my Emaxx with the servo saver locked (super glued tight)...I raced it for 6 weeks with some spectacular crashes, and it still works fine...pretty tought for a $15 servo!

For a $15 servo the EXI cant be beat.....I think for 1/10 scale either EXI 226 or 227 will do very well, I am going to put one 226 into my Hyper 10TT as soon as I get an arm for it.....I am happy with EXI....when they die I will try to upgrade to Savox.

will those work? sure. Are they the best for performance? No.
run one of those for a while then get a good servo and see the difference.
If you really can spend more then 10 bucks on a servo then those might work for ya. But honestly the savox servos at 70 bucks will outlast those cheap 10 dollar servos.

i put a 227F from hobbypartz in a xxx-sct for a week or so until i could get one of my hitec's out of the sc10.
it worked 10X better than the stock servo, i keep it for a backup servo..
i'm just unsure of the life span of it?

for 15 bucks i'd say its worth it.. if it lasts a year or more, it will have been a great buy...

buy one, run it for awhile and let us know how long it lasts

will they last 5 times as long?

I'm all for good gear, don't get me wrong, I spoil myself and my truck, but there is a point of diminishing return wherein performance is good, really good, and spending more really doesn't produce much more performance.

here is the issue tho, 1/8 scale buggies really need a steering servo with 250+ oz. of torque. try to find a cheap servo with that kind of torque! i looked, they dont exist.

It is a cheap servo and it holds up in 1/8 scale

Do not know how long... I have it in buggy for some four races only...
