Gearing up AND increasing voltage seems like a bad idea to me unless you're doing speed-runs and letting the motor cool off after two or three passes.

the 4000kv can be ran on 3s but i dont think there is any need, I had a 4000kv in my slash 4x4 and it was fast and it overpowered most tracks

A glitch buster won't help motor cog. They are for when the servo draws more then the esc can provide.

who makes the ex4 esc? don't expect too much in the cogging dept. it's a sensorless motor. it's going to cog at low speeds. no getting around that. some esc's are better than others when it comes to how much cog there is, but some is always going to be there.

The ex4 is Tenshocks esc. Looks like a re-branded HW SC8 120A.

ive been told they are toro or hobbywing 120a and they can use toro and tenshock program cards the cogging doesn't seem to bad now that i have the transmitter adjusted better , definitely an upgrade from a traxxas xvl system

Default HW 120amp sct-pro+Tenshock 4600kv sensored

Hi I have a HW 120 pro esc +s411 4600kv sensored. My truck is a beast and i have race it two times. The first time it was med to large outdoor track and the motor stops 3 times in a 6min qualification using 16t/40 on my LOSI SCTE.By the beginning of the main 10min race I drop it to 14t and the motor stops again resting 3 minutes or more to end the race. The distance between my truck and rest of the group was notable and let me tell you is super fast! .The second time it was in a shorter loose track using 13t/40 by the 7 lap it stop again.I set 0 timing on the esc .USING NANO-6.6 2S
FUTABA 4PL.Should I keep going down on pinions or it could be something else?

THANKS!
