tenshock sc401 short course Brushless MOTOR
#841

If I get the Tenshock, can you send some decals with the motor too. I have a friend who's going to order for me sometime next week. Hope you get the Tenshocks by then.....
PS: I asked this on another forum but here goes.... How would the 4600 Kv run in a slash 4x4 with stock gearing with the SSC kit on a very loose track? Ambient temps are around 26 Celsius.....

I couldn't get the RX8 to work well either. Best I could do was up the start throttle to 20-25 and that got rid of most of it. The SC8 runs this motor MUCH better. Only the slightest cog at minimum power (like all sensorless set-ups). SC8 is a great sensorless speedo.

Was thinking about getting this motor... Whats better 4000kv or 4600kv i would be running it with an rx8 in a sc10 4x4 with 2s on high bite indoor tracks (the ones in my signature) thanks

As you probably just read above, the rx8 doesn't work the best w/ this motor. So keep that in mind. I might attach my xerun and see how it does, they seem to do better w/ the sensorless.

Motor- tenshock sc401 4000kv
Esc -mmm
Battery- turnigy 40c-50c 5000mah
Vehicle- slash 4x4
Gearing- 14/54 (running 1/8 buggy tires)
Esc settings- stock untoched
My first setup was the vxl and well It was always over heating and cogging and glitching just problems all day. I thin switched to the mmm and 1410 wow motor was stupid fast ran cool and was just awesome. I was just so impressed with the smoothness of the 1410. Then I sold it and along comes the tenshock....... It is by far the smoothest sensorles motor I have ever seen/used. It is so smooth it seems slower than 1410 but its just cause the 1410 isn't has smooth as this motor. I and it runs cooler than 1410 also with same gearing. I ran my slash friday night at a high bite loamy small-med. sized track and after 6 min of running with no holes cut into body the motor was barely warm to the touch. I'm very pleased with the performance and price of this motor. I would recommend it to anyone. I'm still just blown away at how smooth the thing is, I mean any smoother and you could use it to rock crawl

i was racing on the weekend at a track that i havent been to in a bit and my tenshock was draining my Gens ace 5000mah 40c packs in 5 and a half minutes
that was geared 12/50 in my ssc lcg and temps were no higher then 135 on the motor and 125 on the esc (SC8) so then i geared it down to 11/52 and it lasted about 20 seconds longer then before
i can usaly get another minute or two when i gear it down to that. last time i was at that track i could do 10 minutes geared 11/52 on a 5000mah pack. i could also hit full speed this time down the straight when i couldn't before, but i dont know if thats because im a better driver/have a better setup now or if my motor is getting slower. i am getting really frustrated with this motor because of how fast it drains batteries, but it is a bit weird since it never gets hot even when its draining almost 1k of mah a minute.
what do you guys think? is my motor dead?

Are the new 401's coming with the bigger front bearing or are we still waiting to see those in the states?

i think my motor is just dead. my club is about to move indoor for the winter, but next season i think i will be replacing it with a pro4/RX8, or another motor if there's a better sensored motor by then.
my tenshock was good well it lasted. it did eat batteries a bit to fast even when it worked, but for the speed and torque it gave i could live with it.

Did some backreading until page 30 and could not find proper information....
would a XERUN 120A v2.1 work on 4600kv series or would a 150A be a better match? I want to have the option to run a sensored motor soon that's why I am thinking of getting this ESC.
Since the SC10 is lighter than the SCTE is it safe to assume that 4600KV would be the better option than the 4000KV motor? What pinion should be the sweet spot for both motors on the SC10?
