Timing is turned off mate, (0) setting within the MMP
I can live with the cogging and will try to tune it out if I can
Agree the motors look great for the price
Given that the loaded kv of the 4600 is around 4000kv
Curious what the loaded kv of the 4000kv motor is, any ideas ?
Cheers

i have had no such cogging issues with my 4600 and RC8. of course there is a little bit of cogging at crawling speeds that all sensorless motors have, but after that it's pretty smooth.

Do you mean RX8? Because my 4600 and Tekin RX8 also only cog very slightly at start and crawling speeds. I like my Tenshock 4600, but I find that I still turn much faster laps with the sensored Tekin SC4X 4.5t 550 motor even though the Tekin has much less torque and punchiness. It's just smoother and more predictable on power.
If someone would make a 4 pole sensored 550 motor in the 4000-5000kv range, I would be in heaven.
Tenshock what do you say?

There will be a sensored 8th scale motor available later in the year along with lower kv versions of the 802. I would think a sensored version of the SC401 is a real possibility though.

ran my new tenshock this weekend in my scte. was comming of a little hot w/ a 13t pinion. about 170F...my castle 1410 geared the same came off at 115F....tenshock definately more aggressive motor though. gonna get a fan/heatsink to try out on it

nice motor, check it here if you want it

I run my 22xx ones with 22-26 on the ezrun 150A
Tenshock like higher timing and do run cooler

Thanks mate I will give that a try
Just recieved the X802 2400kv to try in my Slash, will be interesting to compare it to the SC401 4600
What speed do you have the 6 pole setup for in your buggy ?
Do you know the loaded kv of the X802 ?
I am going to start with 50 mph or so on 3s
Currently running the SC401 on a Castle MMP but also recieved a Trackstar 150 that I am going to try
Any problems shortening the motor wires on these fellas ?
Cheers
