A little bit disappointed.
Anyway, it seems stable up to now.
Any friends, who have any dissatisfactions about the motors, pls let me know.
We need your info to make better motors in future.
Thanks a lot....

I ordered/paid paypal for one of these from aliexpress back on 4/13 and I have yet to even get shipping notification. I just sent a email asking when the heck I'm getting mine

that's odd. you should have gotten a tracking number at least by now. i got the expedited shipping with mine because i also bought the esc with it (he uses better shipping when you buy more things). the shipping method for your motor says 7-20 days so hopefully you'll have it by next week.

I just posted a reply to you on the scte thread. Yes, contact the seller. Mine was quite responsive. Alibaba is almost like ebay, there are lots of different vendors on there. I do believe they all use escrow though, so they don't get paid until you go back on there and tell alibaba that you got the item. You have 30 days from the time you order to file a dispute.

hmm... it did show a tracking # when logged in, but the last movement was on the 22nd and not even states side yet. Shows shipping through EMS. I guess I'll give it another week and see if it shows up.
Thanks for the tips.

Hello Folks,
Doing some testing with the Tenshock SC401 4600kv motor
Was planning to gear it stock (13/54) for around 38mph but the 12t pinion I was planning will not mesh with the 52 spur I have
Smallest other pinion I have is a 17 which is not really ideal but I gave it a shot anyway
Car setup
Slash 4x4
Mamba Max Pro (0 timing, punch disabled, high start power)
Proline Streetfighters
Geared 17/52
2s 5000mah 40c Turnigy
Theoretical Speed - 52 mph (scriptasylum calculator)
Ambient Temp 80f
Eagletree Data
Max Amps 180
Min Volts 6.12
GPS Speed 44 mph (means the loaded kv is actually around 4000)
Temp after bashing for 15 minutes 165f
Motor is almost identical in size (few mm shorter) than the Castle 2400
Motor cogs badly on full throttle takeoffs but is pretty smooth once it gets moving
Motor braking power is terrible

3s 6000mah 25c Turnigy Nanotech
Theoretical Speed (4600kv) - 78 mph
Theoretical Speed (using 4000kv) - 68 mph
Max Amps - 170
GPS Speed - 62 mph

Did a dozen or so high speed runs, ESC gets hot very quickly, motor didnt get over 170f
Cogging still very apparent, will try and tune it out using software
Seems like a nice budget motor capable of decent speeds
1600 watts on 3s and 62 mph is not too shabby
I have a couple of smaller pinions on the way and will test again when they arrive
Also have a Trackstar 150 amp ESC on the way will install it and see if temps come down (have my doubts though)
Cheers

Just a note about the cogging you mentioned, have you tried a diffrent esc ? I ran the 4600 with a sidewinder, mmp, Toro 8 , xerun 120 and also the SC8 and to be honest even though it is one of the cheaper options available it performs the best of the bunch imo.

Yes I ordered the 2400kv version of the X802
I'm running an MMP with external bec
Same settings for all motors I test (0 timing, punch disabled, high start power)
Cogs a lot more than the Castle 2400 (almost none) and seems to get worse as the motor gets hotter
I have a Trackstar 150 coming soon and I will try that
Cheers

i think turning down the timing on the speedo might help with your cogging, the only time i feel mine cog is when I try to flip over another truck when we turn marshall ourselves. I ran mine this weekend two different tracks and was very happy with the results. For the price you can't beat the 4000kv motor Good power from start of the pack until the end. running 15t / 40 on the losi with it
