Backorders galore
 

I understand we just went through the christmas season, and people bought a bunch of RC stuff, but whats with all the backorders even now? For instance, I tried ordering a Gens Ace 5000 mah 40C battery- back ordered. so i figured i'd get the Sky Lipo equivalent- backordered. So i got a different battery, but the charger i want is- backordered. Then I wanted a Losi 1/10 slider...backordered. WTF?

China just celebrated their new on on 2/3 and it's usually a big deal, and the festivals last longer than compared to here. In a lot of industries, things are delayed this time of year because of that.

For my work, end of jan through end of feb, all my imports from China are always up in the air when the get here. I can never get a definitive answer when they will hit port and if they get held up in customs...that's another delay. Usually during spring, summer and fall, it's not an issue (again, other than customs)

Every year, the new year changes by a few weeks for them, so next year it will be Jan 23rd. I would expect delays on things for a few weeks after then too.

Last year this time, the Chinese New Year screwed things up well into March. NEVER order china related parts from the end of January until the end of February, unless you're not in a hurry.

I've noticed that too, even with simple things such as wheels...

I was a little irritated that I was waiting for a certain brand of wheel to come in stock for over a month! Ended up having to use something else which I really don't like, but it gets me around the track...

I think I'm just gonna start buying white and some rit dye...

That works perfectly. I got some 1/8 buggy wheels for stupid cheap but in a crazy neon yellow, and I dyed them black. Came out awesome. I purchased my Ryt over at Walmart for a $0.89

Sweet! Good info to know. I was wondering what happens if you dye neon colors with black. Thx a bunch!
