VZB V-Spec Do You Have One / Do Like it?
Anybody using the .21VZB V-Spec? and if so How do you like the engine?:D
|
ok one word
V-SPEC..... WOW!! what a motor. after break in it is still tight at the top |
I'll put it to you this way, I've owned a novarossi p5 and a sirio kanai and the o.s. vspec is my favorite by far, most power and most reliable only foulded one plug threw a gallon so far
|
only good for one weekend though. O.s. changed to a harder piston, making it wear really really fast. Fast motor though.
i like picco myself. |
Just bought one Saturday. Everyone I've talked to had good things to say.

Originally posted by terrible ted only good for one weekend though. O.s. changed to a harder piston, making it wear really really fast. yeah it sad to say it sound like you don't know what you are doing.
and i would never say that out loud if i did not have real fact to stated that a motor only last one day of running. WOW!! you must have run it at 300 for more than one Q that day then and run it with out a air filter is my only guess. but i did have a vzb bearing go out with break in 1.2 gal. that said i think they fix the bearing thing witht he v-spec that is why they are not selling them anymore. i plan on try the picco p7-r sometime in may but right now. WOW!!! this v-spec is for real.. Cheers!!! |
guys, i was just saying what my lhs onwer said. i just belive him becaus he's been racing for 20 years and knows the guy who makes those motors. i should have made myself more clear, sorry

Ted, It seem that your Hobby shop has the wrong infomation. The V-spec is the most reliable engine out there, you here romurs
with out any justifcation you assume that this engine is bad without trying one or asking someone who has one. It seem that you local hobby shop has some bias. |
Ted, I don't think you shop owner knows anyone from OS Engines.
|
Yes Ted, what are you talking about?!!! Have you seen my v-spec run yet. No, I don't think so.
I run a v-spec in my Jammin x1-cr and I love it. Tons of torque and after break in, it was so easy to tune. After my twenty-minute main and two broken clutch springs it still came off the track at 235. Fuel economy is decent and it has a different exhaust note than most .21 engines. By the way what lhs are you talking about. They must be bias, some places make assumptions with only what they hear and not what they test. This is how rumors start, and then it escalades from there. Did you hear this from Krazy Kevins Hobby Shop? |
V-Spec and VZB
Would like to share with you that the OS V-Spec is now taking over the scene here in my side of the world (Manila). This mil is just awsome! Its is the favored mil than the Nova 421B or RB. The power is so linear from bottom to top. Not like the italians where they're kinda weak in the bottom and just goes crazy from mid to top. Going to the VZB's weak spot (the main bearing) this is easily corrected by replacing it with one from the VZR (On road) after break-in. You will find this now being used in the V-Spec. I have put about 5-6 Gallons on the VZB before replacing the bearing and conrod. The V-Spec is a 3HP mil using 30%, this is the most powerful and strongest mil around so far. Do not heistate to drop this into you bugs! The smile in your face will be permanent!

RCCA just tested the new OS 18TZ @ 2.3hp!
These guys know how to make power. I hope the V-spec is as reliable as the Euro motors... This is the first expensive engine that sounds like it's actually worth the money! |
I think OS is having a hard time shaking a well-earned bad rap. Originating with the RZB. It was next to impossible to get more than 1 1/2 gal out of one.
Think I might try one of these new ones... |
I have afriend who has 8 gallons on a VZ-B (the worst offender) with just a sleeve pinch. 1 1/2-2 gallons on a 200+ engine before it's worn out just isn't acceptable.
