Talking Help with my XXX-T MF2

Hello Everyone,
I get the whole gear ratio thing, but here is where im confused, I have a XXX-Tmf2, i'm running the Kinetic system with a ballistic 13.5, and a thunder power 7.4v 65c 5300mah battery, a 2.4 radio and a JR 9100s steering servo, my trans ratio is 2.43 my spur is 86t and acording to the novak site I should be at a 8.5 ratio, give or take, that would mean I need to run a 25t pinion.?
I run on a short course with one triple jump and a single jump, won't that be to big of a pinion for a short course??? any sugestions on what pinion I should run, or change the spur, please let me know if the 25t is what I should run, im tring to get it all dialed inso I can be competitive.
Thanks for all your help,
Traxxislosinut

Default trans ratio

If you have an MF2 with the grey trans case your trans ratio is 2.56.

2.43 is the ratio of the black case trans

For my truck would be a 10.24 and novak says run a 8.5, so running higher would be ok and lower would make me overheat, is that right?
Thanks
