I did get my son a traxxas slash RTR for him he is just getting his feet wet as for me well I have been racing for 15 years but been out of the game for the last 4 years so just now getting back into it. So leaning towards getting the team kit from Team Assco. Good move?

Sure is. Most of the ESC's that come in a brushless RTR will have many features including the drag brake.

The only thing the Radio may not have is some fine adjustments for like
Travel
trim
punch control
and so on.

That radio would probably do the trick but if you want more tuning options that are usually in the radio. I would recommend the Specktrum DX3S. They have plenty of adjustable settings and are really pretty inexpensive. I think they retail for around 250 last time I looked with RX but you can find them on ebay all day. Here is just the first one that popped up without really searching much for 150 with RX and sensors.

But if you wait and watch ebay you can pick up this same radio with RX for 100bucks. Thats how I got mine.

Thanks man cool yea my main concern was the drag brake all that other stuff don't really need for what I want it for. So looks like I will be picking up the sc10 2wd RTR kit after all

get a temp gun with it and set some money aside for pinion gears so you can get the most out of the motor sounds like everything else will work for you.

My first thing back in the game 4 months ago was a b4.1 kit. I believe the SC10 rtr comes with the same stuff.

For an RTR radio It is pretty good, some view trim knobs as ugly but they work. The radio is pretty light and fairly comfy. It even has a tension adjustment for how you want your steering wheel to feel. The range is unquestionable, you can pilot your R/C further than you can see it...

I was surprised with the ESC and all the settings it came with. you can change drag brakes, throttle profile, battery profile. Its fairly basic but more than enough for an rtr esc

If you want to look at the setup its here - http://teamassociated.com/pdf/cars_a...esc_manual.pdf

i think the stock remote is ok, but obviously running my DX3R it feels a little on the cheap side haha, but no really its an ok remote for just getting started. The motor is a little bit of a dog, but you could upgrade that as well.

I got a new remote, the Futaba 2pxl, don't make the same mistake I did and get one without EXPOnential. Airtronics makes one for the same price that has EXPO.
