Wow, that's an astronomical amount of posts in this thread, I didn't even realize it. My other threads have maybe 2k posts at the most.

Question for anyone running the 1410 with the Castle motor fan. Roughly how much in a drop of temp can I expect running the fan? Is there a drop at all in run time? After an 8 minute main my motor temp was 190. Track temp was around 90. I put 4000 mah back into a 5000 pack. I could gear down from 16 to 15 but I like the speed of the 16. Any ideas?

The only thing I didn't like about the screws on this truck is that my tools did not fit them perfectly as they did in my AE cars. I replaced the screws with Tony's screws and the problem was solved. Not sure if anyone else had the problem but some of the hexes on the screws are too tight? I'm not using welfare tools either, they're pretty decent:

ROFL, maybe it does! Actually when I was shopping for a hex set it was a toss-up between those two. They're identical, but I happened to have only AE cars at the time so I figured I'd match it up. Plus the blue handle is better looking

I run a fan on mine - not at all sure that it's necessary but it makes ME feel better. And my motor has never been hot enough to warrant me dragging out the temp gun! I just figure that any time you're dissipating heat which should more than offset the slight battery drain of these little bitty fans.

AND, it sounds like you're on the HORNS OF A DELIMMA - I'd guess that you're a bit over-geared OR you have something dragging in the drive train. My similar set up - 1410 with MMP was barely warm to the touch after 10 minutes on 15 x 40 - LARGE outdoor 1/8th scale style track that didn't really have a very long straight. And, honestly unless it's a medium to small indoor facility I'd be looking for binding or a bad bearing or 3 because based on the experience of others and myself on this thread you shouldn't be really over geared unless you're on a small track.

Let us know what you decide to do!!!

ever since i got this truck im over heating constantly. fresh diffs 5-5-3 . im running tenshock 4600 (maybe to much) with my heat issues im thinking 3800 to 4000 would be good enough. checked all my cvd pins, two had come out so i contact cemented them in. my pinion set screw was rubbing on the motor mount , so i out right drilled the hole in the motor mount larger. running 43 teeth spur and tried 11 to 13 pinion and getting in the 190's to 206 on the motor. good thing i only payed 60 for the motor or id be severly worried lol but the thing has hit 200 a hand full of time but keeps on ticking.i just installed a lrp fan and atached it to the center diff top plate over the motor it has dropped my temp by about 15. i do have alloy towers but have cut the esc tray off and drilled the battery holder out and yanked the side guards off. just cant get a handle on the heat probs, its never fun to drive when your always worried of temps.
