Are those 3.5mm or 1/8" od? I was looking into making some for myself but couldn't find any 3.5mm od titanium.

Guess I'm a little late to the party, may I ask about why you'd might not again ?

I think most people make a bigger deal out of the mmp than needs to be...

go into it knowing if you don't buy a hitec 985mg or servo known to work you may need to run a bypass or BEC. THe mmp can handle any motor out and is ready for 4 pole sensored to boot.. Again if you have glitching or stuttering and you have a 2s setup jump the a old rx or servo wire from the battery into the rx and disable the onboard BEC (pull the center wire) or run a external bec and don't worry about it. I try to be fair, but i have to be honest the rx8 is a great esc when they don't fail but they are not half as reliable as the mmm if you want 1/8 scale equip. I've run the same two mmm's in my ebuggy and etruggy for 2+ years, meanwhile i've personally seen 10 rx8s bite it, granted all in 1/8 vehicles.

Actually to be honest I went ahead and bought the MMP Esc today. I had a guy that knew what he was doing and showed me how to use castlelink and set up the ESC motor conservatively for the Redline 4.5t motor until I get the 1410 delivered. He says he has never really seen one thermal, you have to really overdo it to get it to thermal and that it was a good reliable ESC, the RX8 had more tuning features, but the MMP is solid and rarely sees anyone have a problem with it. I will go home install it and see what temps I get out of it. By the way I have a 15t on the SCTE right now, and I may go down to a 13t and see if this combination will keep everything cool.

The only advice I can give you with that speedo is stay with the sensorless motors. I killed 3 mmp's personally on sensored motors.

Just thought I'd share my SCTE/Ten-t/810 hybrid. Basically it's all the parts off my SCTE on a 810 chassis with a Ten-t wing and 8ight shocks.
With the Hyper wheels the track width and wheel base are both 12'. I don't run at any sanctioned events so I didn't worry about legal dimensions.
Lightened it up by modding the battery box, radio box and top diff plate. I'm doubled up on the shock towers because I regularly send the truck into spiraling cartwheels. Bad enough I've broken/bent any single tower I use; carbon or aluminum.
I've tried the 17mm hexs and axles from the 810 with 1/8 buggy rims/tires but didn't care for it to much. Besides, I have a ton of SC rims/tires I need to use.

Did you double up on the front and rear shock towers?

I have a set coming, curious to see how these hold up ?
I made those and I made all the ones Chris A. was selling as well. That is my ebay auction. They are 6-4 grade Titanium, they will last longer than the rest of your truck I have a bunch of inventory I need to get rid of, hence the much lower price than they used to be.

For more info or ordering, shoot me a PM.

3.5mm, same as stock.

You will not find any 3.5mm 6-4 titanium. I deal with a lot of Ti here at the shop, and just happened across this material as a project overrun from one of my suppliers, and bought all of it that was available. I have about 39 feet of it left, enough for 40 sets or so, and once it's gone...it's gone for good. It's not something thats normally commercially available.

I run nothing but sensored motors on all 3 of my MMP's and do not have any issues and 2 of them are on their 2nd season (I do have an external bec).
The MMP -vs- RX8 is really old and if we were to be honest and fair both equally have good days and bad.
My only gripe with the MMP is that it shouldn't need an external bec, but other than that it is a rock solid ESC.

The front ones bent on me in 1 race day so I went back to steel in the front but all the pins in the rear are still good.
I went with the e-clip version as the collar version really doesn't save as much weight as the e-clip version.
In all fairness I have bent the front ones in my 8 2.0B from Lunsford too and I'm starting to think that steel is needed for the front or I gotta case everything just right, LOL

8ight....is that wiring setup the one in the castle manual?

Nevermind...looked at it wrong

Would you recommend doing it your way instead of using a cap? You have a wiring diagram of it?

Yup. The front is a 3mm carbon from Jammin and oem rtr aluminum. Rears are both rtr aluminum. I broke the Jammin 3mm carbon rear.

When I get a couple bucks, I'll see if the 4mm carbon towers will hold up to my limited driving skills.

Any recommendations on manufacture?
