I have used the Tekin 4.5 and 5.5 in my conversion and both work great. Plenty of power. I would recommend a 4.5 unless you are only racing on smaller tracks, its always better to have to much than not enough. I use a MMP with no issues at all, but there has been others that have had issues with it. If you have the money go with the RX8 and you will not have to worry.

Default On the waiting list

Local shop has 6 on order and all are spoken for already. As someone said earlier lots of Slash 4x4's going to be for sale. 5 out of 6 of us are running a Slash 4x4.

What size of lipo's were used in the video? Was it a 2 cell or a 3 cell lipo being used or what did you find to work the best?

5200 30c 7.4's. 11.1 would be to much for the 4.5. Now a 5.5 on the other hand would great in 3 cell.

Default Tekin 550 5.5 or 4.5

So I went ahead and ordered my RX8 today and have decided I want to also go with the Tekin SC4X 550 Motor. I run a track at my local hobby shop where the longest staright is probably 35 feet long and it has multiple jumps that require a quick boost of torque, BUT I would also like to try racing on some 1/8 scale courses this summer with my truck so I need a motor that can handle both if possible. I would love to have the option to run 3S but if having a 4.5T motor is a better choice for what I would like it for then so be it. So my question is..... what would be better for this truck and for what I would like to use it for while hopefully keeping my temps low and having speed on tap. What are the benefits of a 4.5T and 5.5T and is one better to go with than the other? I would love opinions from people who have run this setup if possible.

Hey S/X this is what I took out of the pack after 6 minutes with the CC 3800 4 pole.
I have not dropped the pack on the charger after the 8 minute main, I will do that tomorrow (fuggin beat).

Castles motor does seem to suck a little more juice than the Tekin 5.5.
