Thanks in advance?
I run the t8 2650 with 40 timing and a 20t pinion on a indoor medium/high traction. I have had great success with this setup. There is actualy three of us at the track that run the 2650 with out a single hiccup. I tried a Novak 4.5 with 12t pinion stock timing and temps always hit 160 170. The 2650 stays in the 130's. This thing is an absolute beast of power. I like the motor for one main reason... No troubles... But you must use a good strong battery.

oh yea, i love the t-8 2650 rx8 combo in my scte, no probs at all never over heat, i run only maxamps 6500mah 2s, in a normal race temps are only like 115. in practice mode i run about 15-20 min my temps are 130. thats with a 19t pinion and 10 timing. very happy with this setup.

I've had the exact opposite experience with STRC, I think their stuff is garbage. The slash 4x4 steering rack slopped out faster than the stock traxxas plastic rack, and the center driveshaft twisted, so I had to go back to using the stocker. On my Blitz, I thought I'd give them another shot, and bought another steering rack, and it sucked too...slopped out in short order, was poorly machined with poor tolerances for the stock inserts. I will not buy another STRC product They are cheap...but for good reason.

any one else run this setup?
anyone????

If temps went up when you dropped a tooth you should go back, maybe add a tooth if you gear down too much it can raise temps. Dial back some timing on the motor if any is there now to reduce some heat 160 is on the hot side if you are not at summer temps already If the battery wasn't enough you would see the same temps on either gearing.. really you should be temping the lipo's too see if the are staying under 130. If you want more punch especially later in the pack yes you need some nice 50c+ batteries..

Just a thought!
That's crazy funny.. love it! I've been fortunate enough to stay undefeated as well.. hook me up w/ the bus paint body Though the second I get it, I'll start losing.. LOL If I lose, I just hope it's to another scte.. I know.. retarded

I run the Castle 2650, and Tekin 2650 in my SCTE and it's a great motor, fast powerful and good run times with no heat. I think I like the Tekin a bit better seems to be more controllable, Still need to get it on the track and do some time comparison with the Castle 1410 to see what is helping me turn faster times.

Well I posted my success but got no comments. Here are the current standings in the North Carolina Championship series after two races. Scroll down to the bottom for 4x4 SC. My name is at #1
