So how does your xcelorin really work for you in the truck? the reason i am asking is i have a new one that hasnt been used as of yet,i see on the losi page losi recommends that esc for the ten-scte.Not trying to be rude or knock the excelorin esc but will the esc hold up? i have seen where lots of people say its not dependable and have had many problems with it.Or should i go with the cc sidewinder sct and the neu-castle 1410 1y 3800 kv motor and put the robinson bore deducer on it? thanks

I wouldn't think it's a good idea to use the sidewinder in a 4x4 SC truck, I would go with at least the Mamba Max Pro, it has much higher power handeling ability.

The 3800kv 1410 is the perfect motor for the 4x4 (on 2S) though.

that Spektrum S6040 looks perfect, ive got a ace ds1313 ill be trying
That track looks sweet!

OK I see that the castle 3800 4 pole would be the best motor but I cant find it by itself! Or packaged with the mmp! Where can I find the 3800?

Acorreding to the Castle web page the new sidewinder sct and the 3800 kv 1410 1y motor combo will work really good in a 4x4 sc truck it was desighn to give 40% more power with a 2c lipo
But the 3800 kv motor is a 3mm shaft and you have to use the robinson racing bore reducer to use the mod 1 pinion gears that comes on the mod 1 spur gear thats on the ten-scte.

The motor works great, I wouldn't use the Sidewinder ESC with this heavy(er) truck.

And you can't get the 1410 without the ESC yet, you have to buy them both. Search eBay you can find the combo for 87+ shipping.

I haven't seen the 3800kv packaged with the MMP, but I think most people pick up the motor with the sidewinder and shelf the ESC... I was going to post the "Neu" motor link, but it seems Castle revised the website and now I have no idea where the motors are listed! LOL

I'll see what I can find...

Default castle

I talked to castle about the 3800kv by its self, buying just the motor, and no not know. But there will be a 5mm rotor for sell as a replacement in a month or so?

Good job KingdomRacer :-)

I was actually thinking of this http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...rs/nm1400.html

But you narrowed it down nicely :-)

The Neu is $129, and you can get the sidewinder with the 3800 for ~$95...

The Neu 1409/1Y 3600kv is the motor I tested for a whole season that Bernie from CC said to go with for my 4X4 SCT.
It was by far the best setup from all the rest that I tested last season.
It was real funny watching anyone on here say different but as you see they have come around as well.
The CC/Neu 1410/1Y 3800kv is almost the same as the Neu 1409/1Y 3600kv, it's hard to tell any difference.
Oh, yeah that Sidewinder went in a MERV project (once I get around to it).

If Bernie said it, it's gospel to me :-) he's hands down the very best tech guy I've ever talked to. Period.

Of course I'm glad to not care about a 2S limit for anything I care to run :-)
It is 4S as a minimum for all my RC's except the rock crawler...

We have had too luck with them. Run the fan on them. The amp draw is high with these but the ESC is holding up great. With the fan on the ESC never gets above 110. IF you have one give it a try and see how it works. Overall I have had really good luck with the Xcelroin speedo's. They are not the smoothest speedo's out there but work well with the 550 motors.
