RACETEK,
I was looking through your pics since you posted a link to your photobucket album and I saw that with the ofna/kyosho diff setup that you came up with the spider gears (?) don't make contact with as much of the sun gear as the stock setup. Won't that cause the sun gears to wear prematurely?
Not saying it will but it was just something I noticed in the pic. If not then if I ever notice the little washer and square spacer are grinding themselves into my gears I'll switch to your method. I just want to make sure I'm not trading one problem for another.

I didn't notice that really. If you are talking about the length of the tooth vs the length of the tooth on the sun gear, that is why you run the kyosho washers to move the gear up and help line up the teeth by the length. If you are referring to the depth of the tooth on the small gears vs the depth of the tooth on the sun gear I haven't noticed a problem on that either. My diff is butter smooth and I have put it thru alot since the installation.
On another topic, anyone notice that this site is acting flaky again today??

To you guys runnin the 1415 motor, what kinda temps are you seeing, after how long, with what gearing?
Just put mine in, ran it for 8 mins wit a 16t and it came off at 177*
this seems kinda high to me.
Input?

Undergearing can make your motor overheat as much as overgearing can.

On a 2s 5000mah 30c zippy pak.
Mesh is on the looser side, it rolls pretty freely.
Runnin it on a mmp on all default settings.

I don't run that motor. I love Castle but marketing that motor to short course guys was criminal. At least for racers who have to use 2S. Anyway, that is a torque motor and you are gearing it like a much higher kv motor. Most people are running 20T or higher if they have the Elite motor mount.

On another note...
A friend tried the 1410 on 2s with a 13t pinion this weekend at the indoor 1/8 facility I was at. His Novak 4.5 had a for sale sticker on it after the first battery. That was my first view of the motor and wow that thing has some serious rip! Especially compared to the 4.5's that were running in the same class. After a 10 minute qualifier his motor was 115 degrees and had more than ample power, even on the large 1/8 size track. Thanks for the original recommendation (SaladFork ??? ) I ordered mine yesterday and am just waiting on it to arrive.
