Good stuff Brian. I agree I don't like limiting power via ESC. I had a ESC that I had set at 50% power and it still would thermal in 10 mins of racing. About the same time as regular power. Seems that it didn't work like it should to reduce temps, all it did for me was reduce performance. Maybe the Tekin is different mine wasn't tekin.

Does anyone know if these will work in the SCTE? And will they work in all of the bearings or just some?

Ah , no those are for ball diffs like in the 1/10 buggy/Stadium trucks and some 2WD SCT's , they are not replacements for the balls in sealed bearings .

Did anyone happen to scale (or could someone scale) the stock losi wheels vs the DE Racing wheels? Which is lighter? At first I was thinking the DE, but now I'm thinking the losi wheels maybe lighter.. thanks! ** Good note to add to the first page as well :P

I went this route instead of current limiting on my RX8. I don't like the feel of the current limiting. I am not saying that the current limiting doesn't work, I am offering a different way to lower your temperature.
Geared 13/43 my temps after 15 minute runs are motor 160,
esc 125, TP 5300 50c battery 105.
I have my throttle EPA at 75.
I just thought I would put this info out there.
Brian
losi b, do you have a part number for that 43t spur? Did you have to mod the chassis at all?

You guys know you can buy down to a 11t pinion right? A whole lot easier to drop pinion gears :P

Lol thanks for the info, was thinking they were for bearings not diffs lol. Owell. Tested my 3800 last night and that little motor does haul some major butt. I need to throw the GPS on to see what the exact numbers are but pretty impressive.

Timannn, sorry, I forgot to state that I shimmed the center diff stand off to 2mm total.
I did work with smaller pinions but I didn't get the results I was looking for. Thanks for asking though.

I noticed that salad also runs a 40t or 43t spur sometimes. Did you have the part number for the 43 spur? Also to whoever commented about running a 11t pinion we tried that but running a 43 spur gives you more gearing options.

The 43 tooth spur is from the Losi 8ight, fits with a slight mod.
