The motor may run for a little while after the 220 degree incident, but in my experience they are never the same again and will just overheat again quickly because the magnet on the rotor was weakened from the excessive heat. If the windings aren't damaged from the heat you might be able to save it with a new rotor and save a few bucks. But the fact that it got hot enough to desolder the motor wires pretty much says to me that it was really hot and there are probably other connections in the motor that may likely be damaged.

When testing a new setup I always start with little to no timing advance and then bump it up a little at a time until you find the spot where temps start to rise more than you like and then back it off a little from there for some safety.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll take this as a lesson learned on my part. Guess I'll order the 4.5

Yeah I know I was kinda surprised myself. I put the order in and it sent me a couple emails saying it was processed pretty quikly. Seems every time I order something priority shipping it is here in 3 days at the most for me also. I only ordered a 5mm to 3mm reducer sleeve and a new set of side guards. But I have to call it as I see it. Maybe Post Office screwed something up. I don't know I did order a set of HB beams from Ebay and a Set of DE wheels like 3 days after my Nitro house order and got them both before My Nitro house stuff came. Can't wait to test the Beams out. I got HPI foams they seem to have a better design for beams as they don't have such a rounded corner. Anyone else have any feedback on good foams for SCT wheels?

I would definitely search A-Main for the ChrisPins. Hopefully they are not all out. If they are, email this guy, he should have a bunch, [email protected]

this is not a fix but it may help some of us who have broken the rear bumpers

i used the top mount from a sc10, and put the part that goes to the bumper on the sc10 to the shock tower on the scte and used the center bolt hole to mount the scte bumper and cut off the rest

it hinges there and should just flex, and not transfer to the shock tower. but it looks like it will work

come on losi, we need some parts!!!

If you fill out the form on-line or call horizon when you get replacement pins they will be the updated version which should last the life of the car.
