Just a little update on the Tekin 4.5 temps. Once I removed the bubble gum like grease and replaced it with 5-5-3 my temps went from 160-170 after 6 minutes to 135-140...WOW !! Gearing is 15/40. It seemed to free the truck up quite a bit. I'm running the RX8 ESC with current limiter @ 90 and timing @ 10 , no drag brake. I also took the stock shock pistions (rear) and made them 6 hole so all 6 are the same size with 27.5 wt oil. I think these changes made a huge difference and the truck feels very stable and smooth. Is it me but this truck doesn't feel like a 6.75lb truck when I drive it??

I got excited yesterday, I spoke w/ a castle tech yesterday and while he wouldn't confirm anything he did say they were discussing a run of 3800 rotors being made available w/ 5mm shafts. Also mentioned that a 5000kv version of the 1415 was being discussed, can you imagine a 4pole 550 motor at 5000kv w/ sensorless effeciency, nothing would touch it.

I would actually rather have a 1415 4000kv to be honest.. but that's me. I'll stay w/ the 1410 3800 so long as I stay problem free, seem to be so far (knock on wood) I like having the smallest possible motor to get the job done, saves on lipo, right now this is the ticket.

Just picked up my SCTE. I was over electric after having 1/8 8ight 2.0 stuff.
What is a good motor/esc that people are running. Locals use a 2S for racing. Castle stuff was smoking up all the time 3 years ago. But they were the only good 1/8 scale player. What would you guys recommend?

IMO, yes... I do own both motors. The 1410 has more gearing options than the 1415. Both are similar to power on 2S geared 20T on the 1415 and 16T on the 1410.
On 3S the 1415 with a 12-13T pinion is about the same speed as the 1410 but has much more low end.
Both are good, both will work... I like the little one for 2S and the larger one for 3S.
