Yes the machined ones will be much stronger but they were intended to take abuse on the 810. Losi recommends the carbon towers for the SCTE. They are much stronger and since they are protected by the body from top crashes the weight savings will be a nice feature since it is all tall weight.

Got those towers coming ! The rest is pretty much bling IMO and just adds weight except the rear hubs and hinge pin braces . Gonna get the 8ight titaniun tie rods and ends next , then maybe an Elite mount .

Use motor shims. You can usually find them in .008" thickness like the stock shim.

I'm still waiting on my diff pins from Losi,
but I was looking at some of the "NEW" diff pins that a friend got in the mail from Losi this week.....
They "look" just like the original diff pins and guess what.......

You can Bend em with your fingers pretty easily..... Really!!

That don't seem very "Hardened" to me.

The only pins that have been shipped are interim pins from Losi. No pins have shipped from Horizon yet and will not be shipping until we have something we find better that acceptable. We are getting this resolved as quick as possible.

I could care less about the pins, there are other options. It's the diff gears that got trashed from the worn pins I'm worried about.

If you are in a hurry to get some hardened diff pins then drop a PM to ChrisAttebery. He's making them out of some very hard material. I bought two sets and have been impressed with their quality and performance. I think he sells a full set of 6 for $12 including shipping.

Note: I'm commenting purely as a satisfied customer. I've never met Chris, I just saw he had a solution to our problem.

I bought Chris's pins also and so far they are holding up great ! Luckily I didnt run mine that much and replaced them before the spider and bevel gears started too wear . From the pics of some of these pins I am sure the internal gears were shot also .

Yes, but if you use an old toothbrush and some soap, the dirt comes right out from under the nails.

I went with the SC10 pins because I had spare diff kits for my SC10's but it was too little too late with the rear diff. The front and center gears are ok last time I looked.
