The small amount of driving I have done so far it feels nice, racing this weekend, after weighing before and after, it moved 30 grams off each front wheel to the rear wheels.

What esc does y'all use for your 4 pole motors? I am thinking of getting orion, but I don't know which one.

Think you moved the battery too much back. It's now in the position if your motor is in the 1.0 location. Look at the 2.0 layout, the batttery is more towards the middle. If you have enough steering and the truck jumps good, then of course go for it.

I wasn't trying to "copy" the 2.0 layout to the letter, and the truck has had to much steering the last few meetings for me and turns on a dime, so if your going to move it back, move it back I did my PB last meeting I raced on my way to three wins in the 1.0 layout, and nose dived it in hard a couple of times, so keen to try this, will take me about 30 minutes to change it back if it sucks!
Driving it in my long driveway it "feels" like it steers just the same to me, but will only see this truly when racing, I'm sure it will fly better, will keep you posted. BTW I drove a 2.0 last meeting and to me it felt just the same steering wise, just better of the jumps. I kinda think it will come down to how you drive and how the truck "feels" to you. Looking at the real 2.0 I was really surprised how much front weight it still had!
Then Tekno bring out a truck with everything up front, so who knows

Popular ones are:
  • Tekin RX8 - could break your budget?
  • Hobbywing SCT Pro - very smooth, less tuning options, but widely recognised as an excellent ESC at a good price. Plenty Smooth.
  • Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro - Sidewinder is too weak for this heavy truck. You may well need an external BEC with this one.

Would be interesting to see the f/r weight distribution of your truck. I have the Ape in rear and mine is about 50/50. The center is about where the motormount (1.0) is.

Yeah i use needle nose or if it really doesnt want to come off that pin i use a right angle pick or flat head screw driver to pull up on it a little, but be careful you dont scratch anything like the bearings or the blue seal.

Edit: I have a 1.0 roller with the TLR kit and stock chassis i will be posting for sale very soon. I figured id get the word out to you guys before i post it. PM me if your interested.

Thanks,
Dan

What would be a good starting point for gearing on a med size track with a 4000kv 5.5?
