Order here...good luck though, they get out of stock pretty quickly:

There's also a thread for them on RC Tech:

To be honest, my Gens Ace 5300mAh 65C has held up really well with zero puffing as well. I know Gens Ace had an additive to reduce internal resistance for a while there that caused the batteries premature puffage but these obviously didn't get it.

Geez, I feel like a fan-boy...but I think decent batteries are pretty important in these monsters.

A Pro4 4600 in an SCTE will definitely stress your batteries and sort out the weak ones for you....LOL. We run the SMC 7200 70c packs without issues. Packs are generally around 100° after an 8 min main. The 6600 65c nanotechs that we had prior to that would be 115°+.
I have 3 nanotech shortys that I run in a sc with a 4600kv tenshock and in a 2wd buggy with a 10.5t and 8.5t no problems at all I just keep them balanced and storage charged when I'm not gonna be at the track I've had them over a year , and they made the roar aproved list
I am not against paying for a "good" lipo if they all just get puffed anyway. Honestly not sure if the Nanotechs or the Novac are to blame for the puffing.

The thing is there are not that many plants in the world that make lithium polymer cells. All these different brands get their batteries from the same plants. So why pay the extra?
Because it would be wrong to beleive that everything that comes out of a single plant are produced to the same specifications.

Burned diff bearing
Hey gang,
Raced my new SCTE 1.0 for the first time last weekend, it ran great, got me into the A-main, but the front center diff bearing was toast after the first couple of heats. Did I just get unlucky or is this common? I sent an email to Horizon about it, but I think I am on my own. I ordered new avid bearings and some HD diff cases, hoping it won't haunt me anymore, I love this truck! A buddy told me about the aluminum center supports being more durable, but I will try another stock plastic one. I ordered a LOSB3592 to replace the cooked support. Anyone ever see this on a new truck? Maybe I just got a defective bearing, as it seems to have separated off the race somehow and just spun in the support.
Thanks in advance!
Derek

mine didnt puff when i ripped it out my buggy thinking the battery was smoking , the motor shorted out and fried my esc and it un-solderd all wires in my rc i even pulled the plug out of the battery trying to get it outside fast put it back in and it works my worst of the three batteries is only .06 off from the other cell and i didnt start storage charging until after 7 months of owning them just run them dead and put away they are my first lipos it seems like their hit or miss for most people some puff some dont but for the price i would rather have two nanotech than one other i see alot of trackpower around leisure hours raceway but the performance between them is about the same

It's more than likely the Nanotechs. I hear about them puffing all the time, regardless of the application.
